Moosejaw Waterproof Fabric

Moosejaw Waterproof Fabric
Getting soaked on a hike or on the way to work is no fun. Everyone will make fun of you and your tears will only exacerbate the problem. This garment is waterproof and critically seam taped ensuring that water stays off of your awesome body.

Primaloft Silver

PrimaLoft Silver
PrimaLoft Silver is a high-performance synthetic insulation packed with features. Warmth, softness, water resistance, breathability, packability and light weight.

RECCO Reflectors

RECCO® Reflectors
The RECCO® Rescue System is two-part technology. Ski resorts and mountain rescue teams carry RECCO® detectors, which send out a search signal. RECCO® reflectors worn by skiers, riders and other outdoors people, bounce back a directional signal that directs the rescuer straight to the reflector. Unlike other technologies, multiple RECCO® reflectors on a person can improve detection.

How to Measure

To get the most accurate measurement, use a flexible measuring tape and refer to the measuring guide info below.

CHEST - Measure around your chest, holding the measuring tape under your armpit. Or have a really close friend or mom help you.

WAIST - Measure around your waist at the narrowest part. Remember this number if you ever buy a fanny pack.

HIP - Measure around your hips at the widest part. This is also called your hipcumference.

SLEEVE - With your arms in a slightly bent position, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist. Then add 2 to this number, then subtract 2.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do yourself a solid.... But really, get this jacket. It's warm. It's flattering (oh sup, curves?). And best of all, it's functional (::applause::)! I had been in search of a jacket that I could use that I could wear casually as well as technically, and this completely fit the bill. I'm 5'8, athletic, and it fits beautifully. The length of sleeves and the back of the jacket (no whale tail) are perfect! Plus, it's a heck of a deal compared to some other brands (that start with an 'A', 'P', etc.), and it's just as reliable/awesome/bangin as the others. So far I've only used it in casual settings, but the true test will be boarding in Montana next month. I'll report back. MOOSEJAW, SAVE MY SPOT!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy it again I've been wearing this jacket for just over a month and have been very happy with it. Coming from a 3-in-1 jacket, this one is incredibly light in comparison, but just as warm. I also love that it doesn't have any velcro- the zipper liner is on the inside of the jacket instead of a exterior flap over the zipper- very smart design. The couple of things that need some tweaking: the hand warmer sleeve thingies are bit too tight, even for my tiny hands; The zipper zips a little hard; I have convinced myself this will get better as the jacket continues to break in. This jacket does not have armpit zippers, but I think it manages my body temperature well enough that I don't need them.,,It is true to size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous jacket for hardcore skier Great technical jacket! I'm a serious skier who hates being cold and likes the mobility of a light jacket while keeping me warm in subzero temps. I love the inner cuff lining that goes over your hand and the pockets. It has a cool balaclava pocket built in under the hood and saved the day when my daughter needed one. It's a super cool look with Caribbean blue pants. It's my first Moose jaw jacket and was pleasantly surprised with its quality compared to other highly respected brands I've owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovin' this coat! I bought this coat just before Christmas, and with no snow have not had a chance to ski in it yet. But did use it shopping in downtown Chicago. It is super warm, didn't feel the wind, and the inner large pockets where great for stuffing my hat and gloves in going in and out of stores. The only concern is the zipper, it does seem stiff as others had stated. But other than that I love all the features of this coat and can't wait to try it out on the slopes....Let it SNOW!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coolest Jacket Ever I bought this jacket for my mom for Christmas. And then I promptly bought myself one. I absolutely love the super soft fleece around the face and in the pockets, and the long length, and the thumb holes, and the multitude of pockets, and the bottle opener, and the ridiculous things written in it, and the fact that my mom loves hers though not nearly as much as I like mine. And also, it's crazy warm and wonderful. Best jacket I've ever owned.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking but.... The jacket fits good and looks good but has some functional least for an urban user like me: (1) hood is too big...wind blows through it and pushes if off my head, (2) neck closure could fit more snugly too for same reason and (3) the thumb holes in the arm openings catch my hand putting the jacket on and off making fast on and off (say to walk the dog or late for bus) difficult. Also not sure how warm it is...still checking that out.

what is the difference between the midnight and midnight/smoke colors? Thank you.

Asked by: Joann
Hiya Joann, thank you for your question! Midnight is last year’s color (2015) and Midnight /Smoke is this year’s color (2016). It has a slightly darker grey interior and the fit was updated to have more articulation and freedom of movement. Additionally, the construction of the balaclava was improved. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the question! The Moosejaw Mt Elliot Waterproof Jacket can be machine washed on cold on a gentle cycle. Don't put it in the dryer though - lay it out flat to dry. Do not use bleach and do not dry clean. Cool iron with press cloth if needed.
