MOOSEJAW MEASUREMENT GUIDE
How to Measure
To get the most accurate measurement, use a flexible measuring tape and refer to the measuring guide info below.

WAIST - Measure around your waist at the narrowest part. Remember this number if you ever buy a fanny pack.
HIP - Measure around your hips at the widest part. This is also called your hipcumference.
SLEEVE - With your arms in a slightly bent position, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist. Then add 2 to this number, then subtract 2.

Dinosaur fossil in a moose hatI've been buying Arcteryx gear for the past 15 years and loved every minute of it but always had a hard time with the price tag. This jacket is as close to a gamma MX as you can get! The fit and finish is fantastic! I love the innovative and thoughtful angled cuffs. I'm 6'1" 170lbs and a regular large fits great, don't want to mean the giant that needs a long, this is the perfect length. My only input is It needs a waist draw string. There is one at the lower waist but it would be nice to cinch in the mid section. This jacket is amazing with the arcteryx atom LT as a mid layer (and it matches great)! Love the madness! Another great product!

I didn't know I needed this until I had it.I purchased this on a whim on my way to the UP Michigan from Cincinnati OH in winter. I had the foresight to bring a down jacket, but not to bring an adequate cover. After day 1 of wearing just the down jacket, I realized why softshell covers are downs' best friend.
The softshell provides enough room to accommodate a down or fleece jacket but not so much to look weird by itself in spring or fall. It also has an amazing attention to detail, providing me with adequate attention from strangers on the trail. Oh, and the secret bottle opener makes me a hero.

Great overall lightweight jacketI found this jacket to be similar to more expensive lightweight jackets and decided to give it a try. This not only fits better than others but has an original look. My only complaint is that it is not much of a wind breaker. Great jacket for the price!

A Must-Have Jacket for Well-Dressed Adventurer!I've been shopping for the perfect softshell hooded jacket for some time now, one that would perform equally well worn during active flight maneuvers on my paraglider, or just kicking back at the local beer garden hoping to impress the ladies with repartee and casual self-assuredness. This fine jacket (my very first purchase from Moosejaw) does not disappoint - even if my wit sometimes fails to impress, the wardrobe enhancement leaves me stylishly unperturbed.

My new favorite spring/fall coat!As soon as I opened the box I feel in love with the coat. The outside layer has a soft, yet protective feel. The inner lining was even softer. all of the pockets are easy to access and well placed. This coat definitely holds up to the rain. I have been caught in a few downpours and have stayed dry. This coat also provides some solid protection against the cold, but I would layer up with a hoodie or thermal if you're shooting for below 35.

Best. Jacket. EverComfortable, extremely well made. Keeps the rain off my upper body. Cinch down the waist and it keeps out the wind. Pockets for days. Keep in mind: If you do want to layer with this, you DO need to order a size up. I'm a 6' tall guy with an average build and layering with fleece in the winter is a challenge. That said, it is unlikely to be ill-fitting if you do order a size up and don't layer.

Alas tis not all that warmThe fit, build and style is exactly what I was looking for. However, its not really all that warm in anything under 50 degrees (f). Even with a light down vest over or under it still has trouble keeping the chill out. I also feel like it might be a bit over priced

Perfect all weather jacket!I purchased this jacket for my son who asked for another name brand jacket for Christmas. I felt he needed this jacket for work because it not only was a great all weather jacket, but it also repelled the rain. He loves it, and I couldn't be happier.
HOLA! how would one say this compares to Patagucci's Levitation Hoody and / or adze jacket? GRACIAS!
Asked by: joeKnowsBo
Thanks for reaching out to us. Our Harper Hooded Softshell is the heaviest in weight compared to the Patagonia Levitation Hoody and Adze jacket. The Harper and Adze are both wind & water resistant, while the Levitation is water resistant but may let through more air. The Harper & Levitation are both stretchy, while the Adze has a fleece lining. The Harper and Levitiation both have a drawcord hem, while the Adze has a flat cinch hem. To top it off, the Harper & the Levitation both have hoods while the Adze does not. I hope this helps!
