DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Moosejaw Wind Resistant Fabric

Moosejaw Wind Resistant Fabric
Keep this away from any wind chimes. This garment has been engineered to block most of the wind that nature throws at you. Perfect for those cool, blustery days. Some sneaky wind could get through, but just think of it as personal air conditioning and you'll feel positively regal.

Moosejaw Down Insulation

Moosejaw Down Insulation
Down has the best warmth to weight ratio, next to wrapping your body in freshly baked calzones. It also extremely compressible, which makes it perfect for camping, traveling, or hiding in small crevasses.

How to Measure

To get the most accurate measurement, use a flexible measuring tape and refer to the measuring guide info below.

CHEST - Measure around your chest, holding the measuring tape under your armpit. Please refrain from flexing for a more accurate measurement. You can flex after.

WAIST - Measure around your waist at the narrowest part. Then multiply it by 1.

HIP - Measure around your hips at the widest part. This is where all your hipness lies.

SLEEVE - With your arms in a slightly bent position, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist. Do it in front of a mirror. Then flex again. Yep, still got it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men's-Baseline Down Jacket-Grey I weigh 175lbs and am 5' 10". I initially ordered the Men's-Baseline Down Jacket-Grey in large. It was delivered promptly and was easily able to track. When I received, the jacket was too baggy for me. The return process was very simple and smooth. I talked to a customer rep on her first day and she was great. Within a one week turnaround, they delivered a medium to me. It fits like a glove and even came with a solid bottle opener in the inside pocket. I already put the jacket to the test on a freezing windy Chicago day and the jacket withstood the test with flying colors. I highly recommend this product and MooseJaw in general from a consumer purchasing and loyalty reward perspective.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, comfortable, stylish About the warmest and lightest-weight jacket I've ever owned. Very comfortable, with a good selection of pockets, although I'm always in favor of a variety of hidden inner pockets to maximize convenience. Might run a bit small, but who am I to judge? I wear M for everything, and the M was quite snug. L fits a lot better, with a little room to spare for more layering. Insulated hood is amazing; no need for a hat anymore on windy days. Bottle opener a nice touch, too. Can't say anything about the durability yet, but I sure hope it lasts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket Great jacket, excellent fit, plenty of pockets. Never found the right fit in a North Face, this jacket is exactly what I needed, comfortable and warm. I'm 5'8", 175 lbs and the medium is a good fit, the large was way too big.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value, could be warmer This jacket is made well and has good features but was not warm enough for me so I returned it. I liked the insulated and removable hood, that it covered some of my butt, internal gear pockets. Trying it out in our blustery 20 degree weather the wind went through the sewn-through seams and there was not enough down to keep me warm. It could only take limited layering under for me because sleeves just fit- I would have to get a bigger size than normal to have room for layering and I'm thin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Made! I am very impressed with the jacket @ the price purchased. I gave it five stars because it has a lot of functions/pockets, and actually keeps me warm. Some of the functions that I enjoy about this jacket is the hand band that loops around my thumb, bottle opener in the chest pocket, zipper hoody, and much much more. The jacket doesn't feel cheap and I could tell comparing to my other jackets that this jacket will last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought this for my spouse who had lost(?) his Patagonia down jacket. He was not enthusiastic on seeing this coat gift but with the cold temps he has found it to be a great coat. It is longer, so it keeps his buns warmer, and it has all kinds of pockets and best of all is warm. Thank you!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alaska bound Have not yet put it to the test but after much research it appears to be just what I need for a motorcycle trip from Florida to Alaska, mostly for in camp not riding.

What would be the minimum temperature comfort range for this jacket?

Asked by: todabeach
Hey there, This jacket has a wide range of temperatures it can be comfortably worn in. We designed the jacket to stand alone on moderately cold days or layer with the new Moosejaw Men's Mack Ave 1/4 Zip Fleece when the temps drop. However, we do still suggest wearing pants, but don't let us tell you what to do.
