Not as tough as other montrail shoes.I have been wearing Montrail shoes for many years and have always had great experiences with them. Unfortunately with these shoes, the soles are just not living up to the demands the trails put on them. After just 3 medium hikes, the lugs on the bottom of the shoe are delaminating from the sole. They fit well on my feet and are keeping them dry. Too bad the soles just are not as tough as the rest of the shoe.,,,,As a disclaimer, I am affiliated with Gore for product testing of Gore-tex and Windstopper garments for the purpose of product review and recommendation. I do receive items from Gore for these purposes.

Another leaking pair of Masochists....I ordered the the Masochist Mid Outdry and within a month they were leaking. I figured it was a bad batch, called Montrail about it and with the awesome customer service received a replacement (I didn't order my originals through Moosejaw) at the time. The replacement lasted almost a year and then today, leaked again. I also have had two pairs of the Masochist regular height (not mid) and both of those leaked as well. The thing is, on all 4 pairs, I could never find holes. I could stand in 2" puddles barely even above the lowest part of the laces and my sole would instantly be wet (not cold...I'm talking step out of the shoe and dump out water). I'm not sure if it is actually entering from the rubber sole or what but definitely not waterproof. Shoes are wicked comfortable and light but the tread on all 4 has also separated. Superglue seemed to be my only temporary fix. Love the fit, hate the functionality of these waterproof (totally not waterproof) shoes. I'm sticking with Gore.
