I took a chance with the Montane Sabretooth Jacket - there's little feedback about it in the states because it has limited distribitution here. I can now say that it's an excellent softshell - it offers lightness and mobility, solid weather protection (from wind and water), and good breathability. It's a simple but effective design, with nice touches like a wire brimmed hood that can fold in, high pockets to accommodate a pack or harness, and a soft inner layer. The Sabretooth comes at a reasonable price given the competition, too, if you don't want to splurge for the Tigertooth like me. Overall a great soft shell that I'm sure will start winning accolades stateside like it has across the pond ("Best in Test" "Best Value" "Essential Kit" by UK's Trail Magazine).
