Rated 2 out of 5 by from Completely different from 9s :( I adore the Wave Inspire 9 and was excited to try the lighter updated version.  The 10 definitely feels very light, but aside from that improvement I was very disappointed. It has a completely different feel from the 9, the amount of cushion in the forefoot made me feel out of touch with the ground, and it just did not feel as responsive and glove-like. Runners who have no special affinity for the 9 may be pleased with this shoe, I'm sure it will work for many people.  However, if you are looking to replace your 9's with this model you will likely be disappointed. I'm going to buy tons of the 9s and then cry when they are all used up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Serious downgrade from the Inspire 9! I've been running in Wave Inspires for years and years, and this is the first model I've been completely disappointed with. The shoe is comfortable at first fit, but is gradually causing me aches and pains that I've never before had! In addition, it's just plain flimsy -- I've had mine for less than 5 months and already the outside has worn down enough to expose my socks! I hate to abandon a shoe that's been with me for over ten years, but I might have to if the 11 doesn't patch up these problems. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I wish Mizuno hadn't "fixed" anything with the Inspire 9! I wish I could still buy a pair of Inspire 9s somewhere...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Took a few runs to break in - awesome now! I bought these to compliment a heavier support shoe. Not quite as much cushioning, but the fit was amazing. The first couple runs actually got uncomfortable (granted I just put them on for some 13 milers). It was in the ball of foot area. But these shoes were the ones that happened to be at the office, so I just kept running in them. Long story short, they ended up being my long run shoe (felt good, knees felt fine after too) and they are going to finish up the last leg of next month's ironman with me. I am super finicky about my footwear, so THANK YOU MIZUNO for a shoe I can be confident about wearing 8 or 9 hours into a race.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and comfy! I've been running on Wave Inspire 9s for the last six months and just replaced them with a pair of 10s. I like them a lot! My 9s were pretty dead, so that probably helps make the 10s feel so good. I like the cushion in the forefoot and while the heel felt a little stiff at first, I had no problem while I was running. They are very light, which for me is the best part. I was not extremely impressed with the 9s like some people, and the changes in the 10 don't really stand out to me. (I know what it's like to have your fav shoe changed though, so if you're sad about the 10s, you have my sympathy!) I highly recommend these shoes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Running Shoe - EVER! I have been running in Brooks, New Balance, and Adidas for 10 years - A young clerk at a local running store encouraged me to try on the Mizuno Wave Inspire and get on a treadmill - WOW! I immediately felt a big difference - It is as if I am running barefoot but every step is perfectly cushioned and I don't get the typical tweaks in my knees or hips because my alignment is solid with every step. My feet don't move inside the shoe at all and I don't feel the laces or seams anywhere on my feet. I always wear these shoes for my long runs because the fatigue factor is noticeably delayed in comparison with other shoes in rotation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does't Measure up to the Inspire 9 I LOVE the Wave Inspire 9 and was looking forward to trying the 10, but I was very disappointed when I tried it on and ran on the treadmill at the store. It has a completely different feel from the 9. I really missed the cushion and the fit; it just did not feel as responsive and glove-like.  I have searched extensively and there are no Inspire 9's in my size to purchase, and I am completely disappointed. I am surprised that Mizuno would change such a successful shoe. Every website that I have recently searched has given the 9 such high ratings and the 10 has such low ratings. Please bring back the 9 for us to purchase. It was such a perfect fit and performed so well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very disappointed I have used mizunos for the last 4 years. I just loved them!! I do triathlons and did my first IM with the wave 9 and had a great run. As soon as I bought the wave inspire 10 I knew it was very different. I have not adjusted to them as I feel the mid foot very light and not supportive enough. I even tried to put insoles. I just got back from a 70.3 and had a miserable run in this shoes. I felt every pebble on the road. There is definitely not enough support. I looked everywhere for the wave 9 to try to buy but was out of luck. I really love this brand and hope that changes are made for next years model. In the mean time I am searching for a new shoe to finish my season.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Different from 9's but still a great shoe! I have had the Wave Inspire 8's and 9's and there is definitely a difference in the new 10's. After the initial shock, I can say that I they are still a great shoe. I have since worn them for 2 marathons and after the initial breaking in phase, I had ZERO blisters. I didn't like that they shrunk the tongue and the top of the shoe gets bunched up a little when I pull the tongue up to tie my laces. However, this is unnoticeable when running. I miss the bright colors but have learned to love the cool artsy graphics to accompany the neutral primary colors. Overall, still a great shoe if you used to the older version of the Wave Inspires! Lightweight and plenty of support!
