Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't mess with loose chalk. 5 reasons to love this chalk:,,1. It is easy. No messing with dumping around a bunch of loose chalk.,,2. The chalk ball doubles as a chalk dispenser, and a place to wipe your fingers off. ,,3. You can take it out of your chalk bag and chalk up a hold with it if you so choose to do so.,,4. It is high quality chalk that chalks even the stickiest grottiest fingers. ,,5. If you get the refillable one, it is (obviously) refillable, thus you wont be throwing socks away here and there.,,,,***some people who use tons of chalk may not like this option b/c it does not last quite as long and does not "dish out" huge amounts of chalk at one time....consider this if you sweat a TON.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pimpin' This is the first chalk sock that I have ever used and I must admit that it was thoroughly enjoyable. Normally, I just place loose chalk in a bag and go to town climbing, meanwhile I spill tons of excess chalk outdoors (and waste it), or in the gym (which makes a huge white mess, hmm.) We generally tend to call people who do this Muscles McChalk because they make a huge mess for a small problem. Anyways, the chalk sock was cool because it had several chalk "chunklets" inside that could be crushed and lightly dispersed onto the hand for an adequate amount of chalk. No more Muscles McChalk for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seen better, seen worse Anyone who says this is great is lying to you. I've use chalk in gymnastics, climbing, and lifting. All 3 sports use chalk socks. This chalk sock is far inferior to others I've used but gets the job done. ,,My issue is that 1, all the chalk inside it is virtually intact which means you need to put it into a bag to break it up to avoid dusting your lungs. 2, you really need to slam it into your hands to get it to dispense anything which leads to tons of dust.,,I used it on its own for a while when I lost my chalk bag for climbing. It would randomly dust the air below me even though it was resting against my side after being looped through my harness. If you can get it for cheap then why not, but you are better off just getting super chalk and throwing it in a bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Size and Dispensing Ability with Almost No Dust or Spilling This chalk sock is amazing! I've been using it for almost 2 months and it hasn't spilled once! It also fits great in my Metollius Chalk Bag, it hasn't fallen out once! Great design as it finely coats the hand with very little dust released into the air. It just got about half full and now you can see dust coming out as you reach into it.,,Some tips-,,Keep it filled (helps keep dust down, leaving more chalk for your hands),,Get a fleece or felt lined chalk bag- keeps it in place better and easier on the hand,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean, Convenient, Economical I use this with no chalk bag. The fibers are tight enough to keep the chalk in the bag while it dangles from my harness. I can easily reach behind, grab it, and with a squeeze or two my hand is ready to continue my climb. I have not yet had to refill it, but just messing around with it I know it'll be simple. spills, no waste, less baggage while climbing. without a bag you'll get a slightly white butt, but that only matters if you're a whitechalkbuttphobe. In that case, get a bag too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GET A GRIP WITH METOLIUS! This only gets used in the gym, as let's face it, I'm not much of a rock hound yet. It is, however, the most convenient way to apply chalk that I've used. I used to use the block-style chalk, but that eventually got all over the place. With the chalk sock, you just squeeze it a bit, roll it around in your hands and you're good to go! That and the Metolius chalk is the finest I've used as far as keeping your hands dry and retaining your grip on the barbell.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Good Idea, Could Use Some Work The sock is a good idea, don't get me wrong. But the chalk in the sock is kinda lame, and the sock had to be emptied a fair amount to fit in my chalk bag. However, the sock is refillable, so I guess if you really hated the chalk, you could empty it out and put in other chalk. If you want a chalk sock, this is you best bet, if you can deal with the flaws.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I give the Metolius Super Chalk Sock Big Ups I have purchased the Metolius Super Chalk Sock before from another vendor. Overall, I am very satisfied with it. I give it bigs ups instead of love it because I prefer the chalk block. The chalk block has me rubbing chalk on once while with the chalk sock I have to dab several times. Why this over a chalk block, because the chalk sock fits better in my bag.
