"Huge padding for big wall/photog/etc." 12/05/11

Huge padding in all the areas you need it, great big beefy gear loops that you can hang a portaledge off of without any qualms. The main criticism of it vs other bigwall harnesses is that it dosnt have detachable leg loops, but this is false, you most certainly can! I was also worried that the gear loops are quite rigid, and sleeping with them sticking straight out would be an issue. Slept 3 nights in it just fine.issues:1) the tie in points are small. Fitting a rope, 2 belay loops, girthed daisy chains etc...it gets to be a PITA.2) sizing. I'm a 32" waist and I quaffled between the medium and the small. Went with medium and wish I had gone small.

"Overkill?" 09/12/11

The Safe Tech harness concept has probaly saved at least one person from what would probably have been a fatal mistake and I do rate the Sport model for use in the climbing gym, the Waldo is just a bit much. I rerally do prefer the padding on my Black Diamond Big Gun, even though I only wore the Waldo in the shop, the Big Gun's thermo moulding mean that it'll hold it's shape under load better...I think. Two belay loops may have its advantages but then I've never had a harness with 2 belay loops so I wouldn't have any techniques for them anyhow.
