"Buy if you don't own a CNC machine and love doing pull-ups"
Power Grips allow for a more fluid, and demanding, pull-up than your typical bar setup. Great work out. And there easy to setup, assuming you do a little research on knot tying. Cords can be tied together and then slung over a branch/beam/etc. Really convenient.
"Product allows effective training with minimal space, and equipment; and of quality construction."
In my quest for fingers similar to that of a gecko, I have tried many training products. I have found these Power Grips to be an outstanding addition to my training arsenal. They are sturdy as a solid board (yes, they're wood after all). The grips feature four different grip positions, and are quite smooth to the touch. I have also used them in my training program on the quest for the one armed chin-up, to help strengthen different muscles in the hands; and have found these grips worthy of their modest price.I would recommend these to anyone who climbs, or who loves pull ups and body weight exercise.Plus the order was processed, shipped, and received by this lucky guy super fast.
I bought these and the Metolius Rock Rings because I couldn't decide which one was best. I ended up selling my Rock rings to a friend and keeping these. They have multiple grip options and they're very gentle on the hands. These are also very light and would consider taking these while I travel. I can do pull-ups everywhere I go.
"Great when used in combination with other gear"
These are pretty cool on their own, but I feel they work much better when used in combination with a finger board or some rock rings.Very light, you can throw them in the suitcase if you are desperate to keep training while on the move. But really, you could just use a door frame or go to a park and annoy the kids by taking over their play ground for your training...
Unless you're a finger straining masochist these are a better way to go for pullup training. The profile is excellent and the finish is pretty smooth, though mine were made up from glued block - not quite as slick looking as the picture.
"If you're looking for a better pull up to aid you in climbing, These are gold."
I've been using them for about a year now regularly. I have a bad shoulder and it's feeling better as a result of physical therapy including these blocks. It's harder than a regular pull up because it's better than a regular pull up, better action from coordinating muscles and more complete range of motion, plus you have 4 grips to choose from. I mounted them in my ceiling rafters with some rings and they have been great, I occasionally switch sides or tie them together and hang them over something when I'm traveling. If you're serious about building functional muscle, get them and use them daily or every other day and you will notice a difference within a month.
I bought these so i can train wherever i want, and they work great! I love them. I carry a backpack with me everywhere and they are in it. I wasn't sure how good such a simple product would work, but let me tell you, after one session on these things my arms were burning. I can't get the same result with just normal pullups. I threw some extra rope and a couple of carabiners on them and use them all the time. They rock!
"I think they are awesome, totally worth getting."
I bought these because I wanted portable grips that I could do climbing work on without having to mount a bar in a doorway and just to straight pull-ups. for that purpose these things are awesome. Because they hang independently, you can get full shoulder rotation on them or just hang and work on torso strength in all different directions, and you aren't slamming into doorframes or confined by the no-motion bar. They are also great because they are blocks, so, unlike a bar, give you a more accurate climbing-like grip when you are working, because you can't curl all the way around them. so they work full hand strength, as opposed to just thumb grip. the only downside was trying to mount t
"good buy if you can find places to hang from."
they are nice blocks. the wood feels good on the skin not as abrasive as the fake rock material. It is hard to find places to install these. so they are not as portable as I had hoped. I thought it would be easy to find a place to hang these in my travels but it is not turning out to be the case. good idea though i need to become more creative with my hanging and then they will be great.
