The Boss Hogg by Metolius is a super-deluxe pad with all the features. It's stuffed with the best dual-density foam and then encased in ultra-durable ballistic fabric. Our innovative foam layering system provides the ultimate in fall-stopping potential. The 1" top sheet of continuous closed-cell foam is un-split at the hinge, eliminating the gutter, while the 2.5" open-cell inner foam and 1/2" closed-cell basal layer has our exclusive angle hinge design. The waterproof, auto carpet top keeps shoes clean and foam dry. The fabric flap keeps gear securely stored when the pad is loaded for transport. There is also a small hook and loop stash pocket within the flap. A choice suspension system, dual drag handles, unbreakable metal buckles and suitcase-style molded carry handle round out the features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pad and well worth the money. I was skeptical about the auto carpet being used on the pad. Great idea. Shoes are easy to clean & a simple brush of the hand & any debris on the pad is off. The unsplit 1" closed cell foam is a great addition to an already great line of products. It's going to take quite a bit of punishment to do any damage to the ultra-durable ballistics cover. The only thing is what to do with the flap when it's in use. It doesn't take away from the protection it give you in a fall so it's pretty trivial really. Awesome pad & Moosejaw kicks butt.,,,,Find it & send it - climb on

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pad, but expensive I purchased the Boss Hog about two years ago when I was first getting into bouldering. It is a great pad that has stood up to the many falls my friends and I have taken on it. The dual layer foam offers a nice landing, particularly when falling off of higher problems. However, while the quality of the materials on the boss hog is very high, I would recommend the Stomp crash pad over this one for the occasional boulderer due to the same inner foam, but a better value because it has a wimpier but still decent covering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps me safe and has a slew of nice features This is a sweet bi-fold pad. The backpack straps are super handy for transport, and it has a nice rubber handle on the side as well. I really like the metal hardware bits on the straps and the velcro in the fold on the pad works well to keep in from folding on you when landing. The pad is pretty thin, but very dense and comfortable when landing hard. It's crazy how much energy it absorbs! I have probably fallen about 10 feet on it thus far and felt great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great crash and boom... Its a bad. it does its job. i haven't had any broken bones on it. but truthfully its a great pad. for the price you can't beat it and the quailty is quite impressive. it holds up to anything you throw at it. the straps on it are comfortable for anyone who hikes the pad in and its great. i've taken a couple falls from 20+ and it sure does its job. I'm still alive with nothing broken

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great crash pad Let me preface this: I only have used this at home under my climbing wall, so I cannot speak to the comfort of lugging this beefy beast. However, at home this is a champ: absorbs falls well (from an 8' ceiling and on a concrete floor), seems durable, and is comfortable to sprawl out on (after a fall) and gaze upwards to wonder what went wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Observe my Levitation Pictures are worth a thousand words, but the jaw only allows about 100.,,So, in this picture I'm jumping from 25 feet up. I hit the pad folded up, but honestly didn't need to. Later that day I fell on it from 20 feet up and didn't feel a thing.,,http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=32355416&l=c9d9c&id=184902865,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I have two intact ankles! and that's pretty exciting!,,,,This pad is great. Besides it's top-quality shock-absorbance ability, it also has super comfy backpack straps, and closes around the bottom for spill-free burritos. love it!
