"I feel safer just looking at it!" 02/20/12
I don't own this pad, but I've taken enough nasty falls onto one to know that this is a solid, well-built pad that does exactly what it's supposed to do. My bouldering partner (who owns it) loves the Velcro and fabric in the middle. I've never had it bottom out, even on my sketchiest falls. Also, it's not an awful sleeping pad.
"Amazing and cheap" 12/26/11
Great pad doesn't bottom out even at 20 feet although i wouldn't recommend taking that kind of fall on this. The carpet in the middle is a great touch! The one big thing that sold me on this pad is the Velcro on the bottom to connect both sides in a way when opened. On some pads I've used it stays somewhat folded like a big v because of the Velcro this pad lays completely flat! Thanks you again metolius!
"Large pad at a good price" 11/09/11
Sweet pad that does the job. I just finished my garage bouldering wall and needed something to protect my falls that didn't break the bank and this does the trick well. All the straps and buckles seem beefy. Shoulder straps work well. The material that this is made of is very durable and is easy to shake clean of chalk or dirt. Once I get my arm strength up ill be taking this bad boy with me for some outdoor bouldering. Good buy thanks MJ!

quick a$$ shipping on moosejaws part which is awesome! love the new pad pretty big for the layout love the carpet in the middle. the shoulder straps seem to have some good padding on them so yayy for the approach! happy climbing
"A solid pad at a great price" 10/05/11
I've been using this pad or previous versions of this pad for years. It's burly, simple and the price is right. I really like the angled fold point- keeps the pad safe throughout, and it doesn't fold up when you land in the center. The new carpet on the pad is killer for cleaning off your shoes and probably my top choice feature is the weight - it's way lighter than most other pads in this category. Did I say it's burly? I accidentally ran over my Bail Out a few weeks ago after I stashed it under my truck. I RAN IT OVER IN MY TRUCK and it barely showed. Thing is sick.
"Great Bouldering Pad!" 04/29/11
I have been boulding with this pad for a couple weeks now and couldnt be happier. The shoulder straps and waistbelt made it really easy to hike in to the boulders and the carpet square is nice for wipeing your shoes though it could be bigger. I work in a college gym and use other metolius pads everyday. I opted for this one as its a much lower price and I found it to still be a great level of quality. Its an inch thinner than other metolius pads but you get a larger surface area. The layered foam padding also makes for a soft landing though its still firm enough that you wont go though unless youre really highballing. Thisreally is an all around great pad!

I just finished up using this pad bouldering at the New and I was really happy with it. The layered foams make it a soft landing but firm enough that you wont go through it unless youre really highballing. The foot carpet in the middle is useful for wipeing those feet and the design on the outside is pretty sick. The shoulder straps and waist belt made this pad super easy to hike in with too. I work in a college gym and use other metolius pads everyday. This one has a much lower price and while it is an inch thinner than some, you trade off with a larger surface area when you open it up. The bail out definitely makes a great first pad or aditional pad!
