I was looking into getting some 5 finger shoes. During the process of fitting into a pair of barefoot running shoes I found out that all the sizes were not working and my toes and feet are different sizes. When I tried these on as my first pair of light weight shoes I fell in love. They are great for running but after owning them for the past 6 months I have found that the soul of the shoe moves around a little on the inside. so they don't have the best durability.
Amazing shoe. I have ran with these on about 8-10 trail runs and love them. They grip well, fit great, no need for socks, no rub issues, and clean up well after getting muddy. I have worn them as general shoes a few times and really like the minimal feel. I wore these in a mud run and they drained well and the mud washed out well. Set them out in the sun to dry. They held their shape and look like new.
Pros: *Extremely light and durable*Can bend and flex to fit in backpacks*Can withstand wet conditions*Super comfortableCons: *Your feet will smell bad without socks. Don't wear for a long time without sock or they will smell bad!*Don't wear in cold weather. They breathe extremely well, so wear them when it's warmer out
If you want to run in a barefoot style shoe but kind of dont want to look like a blackfooted hobbit; get these, they give you pretty much the same feel as a pare of toe-shoes but look the part. I never have to wear socks in mine and never get blisters. They are extremely comfortable while still giving you all the benefits of barefoot running.
This shoe is the most comfortable shoe I think I have ever had! My foot is in love with this shoe! Lightweight. Feels, true to its name, like I have no shoes on but better because I have the added protection of a shoe! Crazy, huh?! Seriously, the most comfortable shoe you will ever wear AND they are super stylish! The only drawback is that they can make your feet come out smelly, even with socks. Or maybe it's just me! It's worth the try! Trust me!
I tried on several different brands of barefoot closed toe shoes and the Merrell's fit the most like a glove and were the most comfortable and natural. I love the wide toe box because I have abnormally wide toes and they fit in these shoes with no problem. I also compared these to the Merrell Sonics and preferred these because the mesh material in these shoes is much more flexible, comfortable, and natural than the fabric in the Sonics. Sonics would be fine walking, but I would much rather prefer these Trail Glove Shoes for running. Finally, I love these shoes because they bring many of the benefits of the Vibram FiveFingers without looking like a dork!
"running "barefoot" will change your life"
Composition: The Vibram soles offer sufficient protection against the hazards to your feet. Yet, still flexible enough to contort around rocks, roots etc. A rigid "toe kicker" material protects your little piggies from danger. The mesh upper allows your feet to breathe while tight enough to not allow dust and dirt to coat your socks. Material construction allows fit able for wider feet or low-to-high arches. A wide toebox allows a generous splay for your toes to keep balance and prevention of blisters. Bottom line. If you enjoy being active on your feet - You can afford giving these or another Merrell barefoot shoe a try.
This is the second pair of Merrell Trail Glove shoes that I have purchased. I started bare-footing in Vibram Five Finger and decided to make the switch to a more conventional looking bare foot shoe. The shoe fits snugly on the foot and feels very natural when it is laced up. I also really like the styling of the shoe. Although I have noticed that problem with other footwear, it just seemed to be a bit faster in these. My only recommendation for someone who is not quite sure of their foot size would be to go to a local shoe store and try these on to get the best fit...and then promptly order the shoes fro MOOSEJAW!
