I wore these shoes for over a year for everything from day to day use to hiking to trail running. The durability was great and I loved that they kept my feet dry without sweating. I would still be wearing them but the sole at the heal work through. They fit true to size and width. The problem is I can't find the color I had in my size anywhere. As a disclaimer, I am affiliated with Gore for product testing of Gore-tex products for the purpose of product review and recommendation. I do receive items from Gore for these purposes.
"Great shoes for romping through the swamp in the month of May" 04/08/12
Excellent shoes, like everyone else has said. I've taken them in all terrains and they hold up to all of the challenges. Never any blisters. You can put out fires with them (the small ones, not raging forest fires). The only problem that I've had is that the insoles keep slipping up for me. So I'll get to the end of the trail and discover the insole is halfway up my ankle. Like it's trying to escape. Maybe I'm walking weird, who knows. But yeah, these are great, tough, comfortable shoes and not as creepy as the Five Finger ones.
"great product, comfortable" 01/17/12
I bought these boots about a year ago at an REI scratch and dent sale. They were very lightly used and impossible to pass up at the price ($10, omg). So I bought them. Since then I have used them on multiple hiking/backpacking trips. I have no issues with comfort, I love them! They are decently light, so no issues there. I have not had the chance to use them in the rain yet, so no comments on that, but I expect them to perform well.
"Good So Far" 11/10/11
I really put shoes to the test and these have held up for the first month well. Waterproof and comfortable. They don't breath very well tho. They are great for fall/winter outdoors and keep your feet warm. Other sites have mix reviews over product.
"Great shoes! Lightweight and excellent waterproofing and grip" 09/29/11
Feels like there is nothing on my feet at all but they still keep me dry walking/running through creeks and what-not. Excellent summer shoe for trail running, hiking, backpacking, I even used them on a kayak trip I took. Two thumbs way, way up!
"Pick these up, you won't regret." 09/17/11
If you are not always confined to a bed or chair, you're going to want to own a pair of these. In the heat or the cold, they constantly perform amazingly. I chose this model because of the gore-tex. Wisconsin winters tend to have a bunch of snow and the water-proofiness is much appreciated. FTW.
"Great shoes if you need protection from elements" 08/18/11
I like these shoes a lot. Most of my friends have them. They're great for light hiking and tramping through puddles and muddy places. They don't have ankle support because they're low tops. Only drawback.
"Look ma, no blisters!" 07/22/11
Just took these bad boys out backpacking in the Dolly Sods Wilderness of WV, where there's all sorts of terrain, from rocks to forest to bogs to streams. These shoes performed famously, keeping my feet dry and blister-free, and are easily the most comfortable hiking shoes I have used. The Gore-Tex is awesome in water below your ankles; because of the membrane they can take a little while to dry out if you get the inside wet, but they also don't get squishy and heavy. My only knock so far on them is that the insole seems pretty thin--I took it out to dry the shoes and there's not much to it, but it may help keep them dry and perhaps there's extra cushioning in the soles themselves.
"It doesn't get any better than these shoes, kept me dry and comfortable through heavy rain." 06/26/11
These merrells are the best shoes ive ever bought they are wide enough for my feet and dont give me blisters or anything. ive gone through 2 pairs of them already i like them so much. they were the only shoes i brought with me to europe for 2 months and never complained about my feet. The waterproofing is one of the best features and it works really well.
"These shoes are comfortable the minute you put them on." 06/19/11
I have had 3 pairs of these shoes so far. When you find something that works, why switch? They are very comfortable and light but I personally would not wear them on a multiday hike carrying a heavy backpack over rough terrain. For arduous conditions they are not quite heavy duty enough but for most hiking they fit the bill. They do OK in snow but tend to soak through in wet conditions. I wear them all year round and wear out a pair about once a year.
"Very good shoe!" 04/03/11
I've logged several hundred miles (or more) on these shoes and they've been great. I'm not sure how durable they are, though, because the toe bumpers are coming off (which I've re-sealed). Then again, they've seen a lot of wear and tear (mostly in Hawaii and Peru). They're so good, though, that I bought a second pair recently (which I haven't started to use yet). :)

If you don't like blisters, get these shoes. They are super comfortable and durable.I wear these with a mid wool sock and I get mad when the trek is over.Don't let get water inside, like stepping past your ankles in water. They absorb on the inside and become a little heavy. But other than that the Goretex keeps you dry from the outside.
