Like them so much I am on my second pairThese are some of the best hiking boots I've owned. I've been wearing Merrell boots for at least 20 years, and my last pair were the Moab's. I don't know how long I had them, but they finally gave out and I'm replacing them with the same thing. Didn't even look at other options.,,,,Only thing I can say is that the current model seems to run small and narrow. I had to order up a half size and go to a wide width shoe this time. I can wear them with thin socks, but a thicker wool sock needs a larger size - that's comparing them directly with the old boots I have. Your mileage may vary.

These are the best hiking boots I have owned in 25+ years.....These are the best hiking boots I have owned in 25+ years from the North Cascades to Utah to the Front Range in Denver to Up North in Michigan Alps (both France & Germany) to the Middle East.,,,,Bought these this past spring and have nearly lived in them since....when I go to do anything outside (other than go to work office to painting the house)....I grab the Merrell Moad Boots I bought. Even took them to Boy Scout & Cub Scout Camps with both of my kids this summer, and all the other dads wanted to know where I got these boots....MJ, of course!

Great out of the box and casual strollsThis shoe is insanely comfortable when you first try it on. The super soft sole is very grippy and the "waterproof" feature is enticing. ,,,,Until you get them on a trail. They're moderately waterproof at best (I presume the gore-tex version is better, this one is Merrell's own waterproof membrane which kind of sucks),,,,More about the shoe... It doesn't breathe, takes forever to dry if it gets wet (and it will get wet) and the sole is so soft that rough trails mean your feet feel every pebble. This shoe doesn't "break in" it simply breaks down. It's sole-ly (see what I did there?? Hah-hah) for casual walks less than 10 miles with no pack and cooler temperatures. Spend $100 more and get a shoe that lasts 3 or 4 times as long, saving your feet the entire way.

Everyone should own a pair, I now have two.Everyone should own a pair, I now have two. I actually don't mind my everyday work boots anymore, and after a day on the trails I am usually the last one out of my boots. Comfort with every step. I generally wear a 9.5 so I went with a 10 on both. Weight of the pair was 36.5 oz. The only flaw I noticed was the left boot was 17.8 oz. and the right was 18.7 oz. Even at full price these boots have a fair price.

Perfect hiking bootI purchased these a year ago. I have hiked throughout Michigan, as well as the mountains in Texas with these. These boots have held up and are extremely comfortable. Whether hiking on a cool winter day or a hot summer, these boots are excellent. The waterproofing is also a plus. My dad tried them out in the fall and immediately added them to his Christmas list (they are now his favorite shoes).

My go to. Oh how my feets love emThese are my goto hiking boots. Loyal, flexible, easy to wear, durable, stylish and don't wear out easily they're everything you wish your girlfriend could be. It's worth a try; you'll be glad you initiated a relationship with this one, trust me. Not sure when these will wear out, but when they do I know exactly which ones I'll be getting again.

Very comfy right out of the box!Tried on many a lightweight hiking boot before I settled on these. Super comfy right out of the box with no break-in required. The tongue is nicely padded so no annoying gouging at the ankle area. They are not heavy at all. I have worn them occasionally for about 6 months now. No issues with them being waterproof. Decent traction wet or dry. I normally wear a 10.5 wide. These were too short in that size for me so I went with the 11 wide and they fit perfectly. I have high arches and the stock insole is too flat so I replaced them with Superfeet green insoles. My arches thanked me. Not the boot for use with a heavy pack but for day hikes / yard work these are great. The ONLY complaint I have is that the laces will come untied in less time than it takes to write "Moosejaw" unless you double knot them. Must be the material the laces are made from. Not a big deal, can always swap them out if it bothers you too much. So there you have it. Good boot so far. Glad I bought 'em!

Not waterproofVery comfortable boot right out of the box. While I was on a 12 mile hike in rain last weekend water leaked in around the toes of both boots. Ruined an otherwise great trip. Merrell refused to stand behind their product. I will never buy a Merrell product again.
I have a EEW foot Are these sold by size and width?

We do have wide sizes available in the Merrell Men's Moab Mid! Just click on 'Select a Size' and you'll see sizes with WIDE next to them. People with wide feet say they fit great, so I would give 'em a go!
