Used on every trip for years without a single issuePros: waterproof, fairly light, fit most gaiters, allow for orthotics, easy to lace, extremely durable, can pack small,,,,Cons: not as light or compact as trail runners,,,,I love this shoe and take it everywhere where I'm doing a lot of hiking. Although I use my columbia snow boots for deep snow these shoes and gaiters would work fine. I have very little bad things to say about this shoe, I wish more shoes were made this durable.

Great giftI bought these for my brother who goes to Penn State and is also big into fly fishing and hiking. He said he actually wears them more to class and getting around in the winter months at school when central PA is usually blanketed in ice and snow. When most kids are slipping walking to class, he is able to trudge through the elements dry and warm.
