Pseudo-minimalist perfection!!!I absolutely love these shoes! These shoes are very well built and live up to the quality that one can expect from merrell. The lugs on the vibram sole are very deep and provide great traction on any surface that I've encountered so far and since the soles are vibram I know they are good quality and should wear very well. The only thing that true minimalist enthusiasts might scoff at is how substantial the shoe is, the total stack height is something along the order of 15mm and so it is kind of thick, but personally I don't feel that it takes away any ground feel because the mid sole seems to transfer energy very well. There also is a little tiny bit of arch support. I think that this shoe is a great transitional shoe for those wanting to get into barefoot running or for people who are like me, 6'5 and 245lbs, who need the extra bit of support to allow my body to go those extra few miles each run. overall 5 stars A+ especially for under $100

Artie Freestone from
Light and trail worthyThese shoes have a thick enough sole to cushion the bottom of your feet on the trail, but still remain lightweight. I prefer a very light and thin soled shoe for winning on pavement but I need a little more protection on the trail. This pair was just right for me. The tread is aggressive and sticky, even on wet rock.

Comfy, all purpose shoeI'll be honest. I haven't done a lot of running in these. However, they are fantastic for playing disc golf, biking, raking leaves, and looking awesome. Great tread and Vibram so I won't slip when it's wet. They look great too!
