Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Shoe for Into to Barefoot Running I have always been interested in Barefoot Running, HOWEVER, I despise the five finger vibram shoe look.,,,,These shoes are a perfect alternative. They don't show off my toes and still allow me to get into the barefoot running style. The first day I wore these, I ran 4 miles. They felt so light on my feet and helped me run off the balls of my feet rather than my heel. I usually got shin-splints from running but not after trying these. The only part of my legs that are sore are my calves (SOOO SORE!) but I assuming once I am used to this sort of running, that muscle will develop and I will not be sore. ,,,,Love these shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe I love these shoes. I do run in them for a few miles occasionally, but not any super long or frequent runs so I don't know how that goes. I do however love these for hiking. I used them for a couple backpacking trips in AZ and they are great, I also even used them for a trip on the Superior hiking trail in MN. They probably aren't ideal for some backpacking as far as ankle support or water proofness. They are nice and cool and very comfy. I liked them so much I bought a similar pair to wear for work at a hospital. I recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will not run in anytihng else! I got the Bare Access 2 to replace my Trail Gloves hoping the slight cushioning would dampen the impact while running on hard surfaces. I was not disappointed! I loved the Trail Gloves when I could get to a trail, but for running on pavement I needed some padding for the balls of my feet. I will continue to buy Bare Access from now on! (Those have been the only 2 barefoot shoes I've tried, and began barefoot running 2 years ago)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great shoe to transition into minimalist running and for longer runs once you have Actually it's just an all around great shoe. I started out with Merrell Trail Gloves for some easy hiking and casual wear but wanted something to train for distance running that was a little more forgiving to running form breakdown from fatigue. The Bare Access allow me to not alter my running gait due to the zero drop from heel to toe but they have enough cushion to not punish me on longer runs. I'm currently transitioning to Merrell's lightest shoe, the Vapor Glove, and the Bare Access allow me to continue training through the calf and feet soreness associated with barefoot running. I know the jury is still out on the benefits of minimalist running but I used to have small calfs and weak ankles and after about a year of wearing zero drop I no longer have either. It's a bit of a pain but I'd rather deal with sore muscles than some of the joint and tendon damage associated with poor form in standard running shoes. The Bare Access is the shoe that seems well suited for the average Joe.
