SPECIFICATIONS of the Merrell Men's Bare Access 2 Shoe
I love these shoes. I do run in them for a few miles occasionally, but not any super long or frequent runs so I don't know how that goes. I do however love these for hiking. I used them for a couple backpacking trips in AZ and they are great, I also even used them for a trip on the Superior hiking trail in MN. They probably aren't ideal for some backpacking as far as ankle support or water proofness. They are nice and cool and very comfy. I liked them so much I bought a similar pair to wear for work at a hospital. I recommend them.
"Awesome Shoe for Into to Barefoot Running"
I have always been interested in Barefoot Running, HOWEVER, I despise the five finger vibram shoe look. These shoes are a perfect alternative. They don't show off my toes and still allow me to get into the barefoot running style. The first day I wore these, I ran 4 miles. They felt so light on my feet and helped me run off the balls of my feet rather than my heel. I usually got shin-splints from running but not after trying these. The only part of my legs that are sore are my calves (SOOO SORE!) but I assuming once I am used to this sort of running, that muscle will develop and I will not be sore. Love these shoes.
