"Marmot is great and so is this backpack" 12/10/11
I love all Marmot products (have a Marmot tent, sleeping bags, jacket....), so I am a little biased. But, again, it lives up to it's name with this backpack. I am not a major hiker, but use it for everyday use. I take it to school, work and sometimes use for short trips. Comfortable, lightweight and well made--what else can you ask for?!
"No Complaints" 03/30/11
Ok so I've used this pack several times for both day hiking and short climbs. For the price you can't go wrong. The only issue I have is whats the vertical rope carry system? Other than that I love it. It holds basic climbing gear (read harness, shoes and maybe a small rack if leading) a DSLR kit, a change of clothes, water bladder and lunch without a problem. Chalk and helmt attached out the outside I almost look like I know what I'm doing. The pack is comfortable when packed and doesn't move or dig in like others i've had. For the money the best pack you can buy. just sayin.
"Great pack." 03/30/11
I bought this pack and was honestly uneasy about it. I've used it on day hikes and for short climbs and I must say it works great. I'm able to hold my basic climbing gear (Helmet attached outside), a quick change of clothes, water bladder, lunch, a DSLR kit, and a few other misc items. The pack feels just as comfortable empty as when I have it packed. I should note here that I don't use it to carry a rope (what is the vertical carry system?) If I do carry a rope it's over the top of the pack like i would with any other daypack. For the size and the price, I don't have any complaints. Now go and buy one for yourself and see what I mean.
