The Marmot Women's Variant Jacket is a hybrid winter jacket for high-output activities. Calling all cross-country skiers, climbers, and runners! The Variant is lightweight, making it easy to throw on for warmth, without it weighing you down when being worn, or when you shed a layer and toss it into your pack for later. The chest is loaded up with Thermal R™ Eco insulation for warmth and protection at your core, where you need it the most. Keep your heart warm and the rest of your body will follow suit. The sides, back, and sleeves are constructed from Polartec® Power Stretch® fleece, insulating and warm, yet breathable so you won't overheat while on the move. It's plenty stretchy, so you can move, stretch and reach, with no restrictions. Thumbholes keep the sleeves in place under additional layers, and the hands a touch warmer in the chilly air. The zippered hand pockets warm your hands during breaks, while securing small items like your keys when moving. Stretchy, breathable warmth, and all for under one pound.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go-to jacket I have owned this jacket for several years, and it is my go-to jacket for all of my activities. I wear it as a breathable-yet-warm layer while starting off in the morning to hike or ski tour, as a belay jacket while climbing, and as a mid-layer at night. It packs up relatively small, is light weight, water resistant, and stays warm when wet. This jacket has been put through heavy use, yet the only sign of wear is that the Marmot logo on the chest peeled off over time. If this jacket ever dies, I will replace it with the same one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite jacket I bought this 3 weeks ago and already took it camping and hiking with me! I absolutely LOVE it. It's amazing, flexible, very light and warm. The price is high but well worth your penny. I plan on buying more in the near future!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for running. Buy this jacket a month ago, I use to run at temperatures of 0-5 degrees and works great. Keeps you dry and warm. It is a wonderful jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Midlayer! I love the Marmot Variant jacket! It is warm and cozy under a windproof layer for hiking, and is great on its own for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. I love the coziness of the polar fleece and the permeability of the side panels and back. It breathes really well when you're working up a sweat. Mind the size chart. Marmot doesn't do vanity sizing, so while I am an XS in most other outdoor brands, the size chart dictated an S for this one. It fits close to the body, and (bonus!) has an awesome little pocket inside for your MP3 player, chapstick, whatever. It is incredibly fashionable, too. I love wearing it around town, for drinks, etc. I almost feel bad wearing it the way it's meant to be worn: outdoors, sweating, and putting the fabric through extreme stress, but it has held-up really well. Get this midlayer-- you won't regret your purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Multi functional and trendy I bought this jacket hoping it would be light to wear in different wheater conditions and at medium activity (hiking, jogging in winter), easy hang around hips if necessary. I am really happy with the jacket. Great for yoga outside on fresh mornings, keeps me warm when hiking and running, but not too hot. Very light ! I hope to enjoy this jacket for many trips ans travels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatile, comfortable jacket I fell in love with this jacket in Vail, Colorado while there for a snowboarding trip over easter weekend - It is comfy, very lightweight and very versatile - it layers easily or can be worn alone as a light layer around the village. I highly recommend it. Moosejaw also sells a hooded version (on sale currently) that is also super cute, though I personally prefer no hood as it facilitates layering. This is a flattering and useful must-have item in your outdoor adventuring arsenal!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, breathable and warm I'm 4'11 120-123lbs with an athletic frame. I found the shoulders/chest a bit tight although the sleeves and length fit perfectly so had to buy medium. As a result sleeves + trunk too long. oh well. Would like to see it more waterproof.
