"Love this incredibly warm bag!" 09/26/11
As I hadn't really mountaineered a whole lot before buying this mummy bag I was a little worried about the temp rating. My first spring hike was met with warm weather and coolish night temperatures, and yet I was stripped down to skivvies in my bag because it's so warm! Since then, it has cooled down in the evenings, and the warmth has provided a nice sleep through the night. I have not yet slept in the bag in 15 degree weather, but that opportunity will be short coming - I have pretty good feeling that it'll match it's temp rating. Will definitely recommend this to friends!
"Definitely a 15 degree bag" 06/07/11
My wife and I bought both versions of the trestles (the mens and womens) and were very warm. The marmot trestles bags are just about the only bags that stay true to their EN ratings.....for example, the other women's bags that are rated to 15 are actually comfort rated to around 25- 30. This bag is comfort rated to 15. (of course, they were able to do that by increasing the weight in comparison to the mens version which has a lower limit of 15, not a comfort rating of 15)
"Toasty warm, but 15 degrees is pushin' it." 04/11/11
I bought this in medium length for a recent trip - I'm 5' 5" and 150 pounds, and it was nice and cozy. If you're taller you will definitely need a long, but at my height, I had just enough wiggle room to spare. The two-way zip is nice, although I'm a sucker for full zips on both sides. This has an almost-full (two-way) zip on the one side and a 1/4 zip (one-way) on the other. The footbox is soft and warm, and the bag has a nice heavy weight.I coupled this with a sleeping pad, and I fared pretty well the first night in damp conditions at 40 degrees. The second night, dry and 30 degrees, but windy, I was chilly. I don't know if 15 is a fair rating, but maybe that's with a warmer tent.
