The Women's Tranquility Jacket by Marmot. With its longer profile and elegant styling, you'd be forgiven if you mistook this garment for a boutique sport jacket. The truth is, this clever bit of work is really a capable softshell, sloughing off wind and water with ease and breathing naturally to knock-down chills before they start. The plush, high-loft fleece lining is almost fur-like in warmth and feel.
DECENT FEATURES of the Marmot Women's Tranquility Jacket
I got the Marmot coat! It's the same exact coat my bestie paid $200 for 6 months ago. The coat is ammmaaaazing!! It's definitely a spring/fall coat, so I will be busting this beauty out in March. The color is not quite a bright white, it has a very slight grayish undertone. It is fitted and very true to size, so if you like a coat that is a bit baggy, order a size up. The inside is super soft and plushy. It will not keep you warrm in Jan/Feb in Pennsylvania unless you are layered underneath. I tried it out this weekend with some underarmour and was pleasantely surprised by how much water bounced off me. It was almost like the water saw me coming and dodged me. Awesome coat!!!
This is a great jacket. The fit is just right and the color (burgundy) is really pretty. The specs don't tell you this, but it has a really (I mean really) soft inner liner. The hood is deep so even though I haven't worn it in the rain yet, I have no doubt it would keep me dry. Unfortunately, I think I am going to have to exchange it because it is not warm enough. It would make a very nice and stylish spring and fall rain coat, but what I really need is a winter coat that will also protect me from the rain (I live in Seattle). It breaks my heart to send this coat back. If you are looking for a snazzy, cozy rain coat for cool (not cold) weather - this is the ticket!!
"Great jacket for wet and windy climates"

I have it in black. It is elegant looking because of its longer length. It is a very form fitting jacket so you may need to order a size larger than normal. At first I thought the neck closure would bother me, but in practice it is perfect for neck and chin protection for the morning bike commute and then opens with a snap if I get too warm. The lining is soft and furry and nice to the touch - even on the pocket insides. Excellent at repelling water and a good wind stopper. The only thing I would change is that it is just a tad too snug around the hips, and I am of average weight and build, but still really love this jacket.
