100% PerfectThese shorts are exactly what I was looking for. They're a bit lower cut for extra mobility, the stretch of the fabric and generous gusset allow you to move completely freely even with a large, muscular butt and legs, and the fabric breathes beautifully. The cut is attractive and modest, equally at home in a casual office, a backcountry trail or the local restaurant or golf course. Pockets are placed well and of a useful size; the soft fabric lining the waistband and low-profile button sit nicely under a pack belt or harness, and the mesh pocket bags add extra ventilation in hot weather. Marmot hit this one out of the park, and their size chart is just about bang on (though the fit is slimmer than some other brands; if you're in between, order 1 size up) - I ordered the size 10, and the fit corresponds directly to the measurements given in the size chart (29 waist, 40 hip for size 10 or the higher end of women's Medium).
