Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design flaw... I think this jacket protects from the rain and wind pretty well but it is not completely waterproof and you will get wet after a certain saturation point. It does look good on and fits as expected, however, I have found a serious design flaw. The "sticky" side of the velcro is on the same side as the embroidered Marmot logo so now my logo is all fuzzy because the thread has been pulled by the velcro. I attached a picture - this is even after I've trimmed the fuzzy threads multiple times. I'd think the company would want to preserve the logo as we are all walking advertisements for Marmot after purchasing these products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely buy this jacket for April showers. Or any showers of any kind. Great rain jacket, does exactly what it's supposed to do. It showed up in my mail box just before I had to trek across campus for class and so I donned my new purchase and entered to downpour. I stayed completely dry, and the little cinchy things in the hood allowed me to tighten it around my face so it didn't blow off. It is JUST a rain shell though, there's literally no insulation to it all so if that's what you want, this ain't it, bro. If you're looking for a layering piece that works in all seasons, looks hot, packs down to practically nothing, and is you know, FUNCTIONAL, buy this jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stylish and functional The jacket looks great even though I bought a half-size larger than usual to accommodate layering. It's lightweight and has all the major features you want in a rain jacket, including pit zips and a decently adjustable hood. My previous Marmot jacket (not a Precip) was cut way too short, but not this one; it sits perfectly. My only complaint is that the material inside the sleeves isn't particularly comfortable against the skin. It feels somewhat sticky, especially in humidity. Of course that only matters when you're wearing it with short sleeves underneath, and I suspect I'll get used to it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for a Year. The interior is falling apart. After about a year of light use. Now the gray interior lining is completely falling apart and covers my skin/clothes. Additionally, it is no longer waterproof. About 50% of the jacket is water resistant for about 30 minutes in a light drizzle. The other 50% starts soaking in immediately, and the entire jacket is quickly soaked in a heavy rain. I suggest exploring another brand until they change the technology / build of this brand/jacket. Note: I have not contacted the company about warranty issues at this time so can not comment if Marmot is standing by their product or not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shell This is the perfect rain shell for when the weather is less than stellar. I use this shell in the spring, summer and fall when it is drizzling and I stay perfectly dry. The hood folds into the collar for when you just want a jacket and no hood. This also does a descent job of breaking some wind chill (with layering underneath. It is easy to clean when dirty and only requires some maintenance. I recommend spraying it with a waterproofing solution every 6 months just to reinforce the water-resistant exterior. Perfect for camping/hiking because it folds up very small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As advertised Bought recently for my girlfriend and she loves it. She wanted a light but waterproof jacket that could be used even during warm summer months. The jacket appears very thin but its functionality is supreme. We have yet to face any torrential downpours yet, but it has remained fully waterproof during short walks during steady rain. She is 5'9", 130 lbs and the medium fits her perfectly, and she says she would still have decent room for a couple light layers underneath. The light aqua/sea breeze appears as advertised and is a good combination of elegant and sporty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket My previous Marmot rain jacket lasted me a good ten years, so I knew where to go when I needed a new one. This jacket fits really well. It is cut in a nice feminine way, comes in fun colors (I got acid yellow), has pit zips, and has a great hood designed perfectly to keep the rain out of your face. I got my usual size, and it was just right. Room for a thin warm layer underneath, if necessary. The weather in Colorado is unpredictable, so I will be taking this lightweight jacket with me wherever I go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice looking jacket I bought this jacket for my daughter as a gift. It has all the features you want in a rain jacket:good coverage, long sleeves, arm hole gussets, hood, etc. but it also has a slight feminine feel. It hits the waist nicely & dips a little around the butt. It's so nice I might get one for myself. I'm filling out the survey on what I have seen so far & by how you have described the product. If in fact it does as well as you say it will once she wears it in the rain then every rating will be a 10.
