Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for keeping you dry. You get wet, you get cold! This is not exactly what I thought it would be. I got this out and thought it was like wearing a paper jacket. It is a little noisy. The more I wore this, the more I liked it. It does not have any warmth what so ever, but it does keep you dry. I am 5' 9" and weigh 145lbs. I bought a size large. There is room to layer. I do not like tight jackets, so it is perfect for me. If you like a more snug fit and are only wearing a tank or t-shirt, you could probably consider a medium. I am glad the sleeves are long enough. Even though this isn't the exact thing I thought I was buying, I will keep it and I do like the product.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lightweight rain jacket that you can take anywhere! This rain jacket is great - so thin & lightweight that you can roll it up & carry it in your purse for "cloudy with a chance of rain" weather. I also took this on a 3-day backpacking trip to Mt Lemmon in Tucson, AZ where there was wind & a rainstorm. It weighed next to nothing & was easily shoved in my pack for storage - barely knew it was there until I needed it! This jacket is purely for wind & rain....not insulated which is good because it keeps it light/packable & is perfect for spring/summer rain & wind. I'm 5'4" & 125lbs. I got the medium vivid blue which fits great & even has a little room for a light fleece or sweater underneath if the weather is chilly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps me dry in wretched Chicago weather This fall I decided to shoot for being an all season biker and invested in the preclip jacket and pants. I had a little sticker shock - I rarely drop more that $70 on anything- but this was worth it. I've been biking in all kinds of weather and the jacket/pants duo has kept me dry and not over-heated. As the temperature has dropped, I've been layering a fleece underneath and always stayed cozy. Also, the wrist velcro has kept water from sneaking in under my gloves. And finally, it is not so totally functional that I am ashamed to be seen in it. Surprisingly flattering. You should especially buy it if it's on sale.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUY IT Completely recommend this product. The pit vents help keep you cool, so you're not baking in what feels like a sweat suit. The colors are great. My favorite part by far is the weight of the jacket, however. I was looking for something that I could shove in a day pack for overnight trips and not have it be so heavy that I even consider just "man-ing it out" and getting wet. You don't even notice it in your pack. Good coverage on the hood, arms are a good length too. I'm 5'10'', 130 lbs and got the medium. It leaves the perfect amount of room to layer, while still leaving my wrists covered and figure looking ready for the Miss Mountain-America pageant. Kudos, Marmot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly Versatile! Wore it in the rainforest and to summit Mt. Washington! LOVE this jacket! I bought it last spring and have loved it ever since. It performs amazing in an extreme downpour of straight rain but also as a great wind stopper, here are some of my experiences:,,-hiking in rain/wind/any element: AWESOME! Seriously, my #1 piece of apparel,,-running: I tended to overheat, but the arm pit vents are great,,-everyday walking around (in Ohio, with bipolar weather): a great looking jacket that is both functional and fashionable!,,*I am 5'9/145lbs and a medium fits me wonderfully! I originally got a large since I am rather tall for a woman, but it was too large width wise. Also, I have the bright pink and I love it (so do my friends, I am very easy to find!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value rain shell The Precipitation is the best value waterproof shell out there (especially when it's on sale). I've been abusing mine for a year on day hikes, snowshoeing, spring skiing and around town and it is still doing it's job.I've stayed dry even when sitting in torrential downpour for 3 hours. It is very lightweight and packable, but it is not the most breathable though the pit zips help. It offers no insulation, making it versatile enough for summer wear. ,,,,I'm 5'5 150 lbs and typically wear a size 8, I have a large it looks a little sloppy even with a fleece layer. I should have bought a medium.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for random rain storms or anything life throws at you(sorta)... I bought this jacket in Bluebird / Methyl Blue which is easy on the eyes but the functionality this jacket provides is what really takes the cake. it's got those handy front pockets and yes, even unzips at the armpits to provide a nice draft of wind to flow to cool things when they get too hot. Coming from South Florida, I can say that I will definitely be ready for any hurricanes, rain storms, etc that come my way and I want to thank MooseJaw for providing an amazing product that holds up to Marmot's reputation of durability and practicability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket. Fantastic for Rainy Pennsylvania. I live in rainy western Pennsylvania for 9 months of the year. This rain jacket has gotten me through several torrential downpours. While others struggle with their umbrellas and clog up sidewalks I strut with confidence and am completely dry. The elastic on the hood is a nice addition to keep your hair dry when the big gusts of winds come. I also have rather thick long curly hair and this jacket fits it all nicely. One of the great parts is Marmots service warranty so I know that if it ever rips or tears I can get it fixed easily.
