Great shell, but very trim fitOverall 4/5 stars. Two curious features: I get an immediate cold sensation in the arms when I put it on, have no idea if that's a function of breathability / wicking features inherent in the softshell fabric, but it's there; and the fit - especially in the arms - is very trim. I'm a medium in everything Marmot makes, I'm a skinny guy with skinny arms and even at that the arms are quite snug. Baselayer and 200 wt fleece is all I can get inside the arms. I only use the shell for skiing so I put on a vest on cold days (15-20 F or so...) so it's fine, but I could never squeeze a down jacket in there. Overall a very good skiing shell though, consider sizing up if you want it loose.

Best soft shell I've ever ownedThis soft shell is amazing and worth every penny! Plenty of stretch for freedom of movement, totally waterproof, breathable. Spent a (RAINY) weekend up in the Whites this fall in this jacket and stayed dry as a bone. I layer it with my mountain hardware thermostatic jacket in the winter, and I'm pretty toasty. 300 bucks seems pretty steep for a soft shell, I get that - but I've gone through tons, and this is the best. When I wear it out, I'll replace it with the same for sure. ,,,,Size - I'm a small girl, and I wear extra small in most jackets. I'd say this is true to size for the most part. That said, I bought it in a small so I could layer, and I love the way it fits.

Superb in the cold wind or rainJust got back from a hike/scramble wearing only the Nabu on top of a heavy base layer in 18 degree F. temperatures with gusty winds. I was comfortable throughout, with no need for an additional layer. I have also worn it in some wet spring weather. Great performance, either way.

Breaths really well !purchased this jacket a year ago and have used it primarily for hiking .
I'm amazed that it breaths so well on vigorous hikes at between 15-20 deg F . Never have i felt clammy . This jacket is every bit as good as Marmot claims !

Nabu jacket = worth every $$$$It's the truth i like the features and the material of this jacket..better moment then pro shell, alot of pockets..keeps you warm and dry,i would stick with base layers with this jacket because it fits close to the body

It DeliversHaven't had the Nabu for too long but long enough to have it in an array of conditions. Rock solid performance, looks great and super versatile.
I'm a Large. Always a Large. I ordered this online and before I put it on noticed the dreaded "M." Put it on and "M" became my friend. Given the stretch of the jacket I felt no confinement and because I was going to wear it predominantly while backpacking (with just a baselayer) I like the trimmer fit. But I've still been able to go with a wool baselayer, (Marmot) fleece and a puffy. No problem whatsoever.
Only one rain storm so far but it delivered the goods as I assumed it would. Haven't felt clammy on hikes and if I get a little warm I just unzip, open the hand pockets (perfectly positioned) and Napolean pocket and I'm good to go. Hood was solid but it hangs a bit low over my eyes. And because I don't like the feeling of something hitting my neck with a pack on I need to sort of 'fold' it out of the way. No biggie.
Yeah..it's a few bucks but I have a feeling I'm going to have this puppy for a long time and am looking forward to abusing it up and down. I have no doubt it will handle it.

middle groundi have the zion jacket, which esentialy, is nearly the same look and identical material to the nabu. i lov-ike it....
style is good, like all marmot products, no one wants a ugly coat
the hood which im always apprehensive of is like 8/10, fits great, lots of perifreal vision and even in loose not all skruntched up mode it wont blow off in wind.my only issue is i wish there was something a little more solid in the visor/brim to keep it popped open. it flops if stored folded or even bent, i hang mine off the side of a shelf to make sure it doesnt get stored collapsed.
the zippers! my god best zippers ever. EASY one hand use, out of the way of backpack waist straps, BIG pockets (dont carry point or hard edges in them, like books. ill explain in a min)
the size:im 5'11" and 160 lbs. medium is pretty good, a bit big if you dont layer. small which i tried on was a bit small but still work able if it was to be only a spring and summer jacket
i havent yet had the chance to push the coat in a true 70+mm all day down pour yet, but 20-30mm days its kept me so dry i could be wearing a tissue paper shirt under it.
and IT VENTS LIKE MESH. breezy!
and since its a soft shell its quiet when you walk and doesnt feel cold and clammy without a layer
ok now my gripes with it and the reason i wont give it 5
its a softshell so it stretches a bit....sounds good right? it is...but since it does it gets dirt and sand into the fabric which compromise the waterproofness and breathability. keep it clean!
durability. so i had a guide book in my pocket, bushwacking and mantling rocks and brushing against trees up and down slopes caused the corner of the paper back book to wear a hole through my coat. my fault i know, and marmot quoted me an extremely reasonably priced and speedy repair. but i thought it would be a bit tougher being a soft shell.
basically, if youre looking for a lighter duty (still tough as heck dont get me wrong) quiet jacket with nearly the same level of performance of a high end hardshell....for half the price....get this. i like it alot. 8.5-9/10 would be more how i feel than a 4/5
side note, when wet, it looks "wetted out" but it isnt, dont freak out! :)
