DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Marmot Down Defender

Marmot Down Defender
Marmot Down Defender helps prevent down from clumping when exposed to water or moisture. This allows it to keep its loft, which equates to greater insulation. It's insurance against crummy weather. But you don't have to fill out pesky insurance forms. Nothing will stop the specially treated, highly water-resistant down from trapping warm air next to your body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect lightweight down! I love this jacket! I wear it as a mid layer for snowboarding, around campus on it's own, and wear it between climbs on cold days. This jacket warms up really quick, is light weight, compresses for easy packing, has great bright colors, is surprisingly wind and rip resistent (I've worn it climbing granite during the winter and it surprisingly has not ripped yet), and is fairly inexpensive for the quality. Also, the zippers on the pockets are a great touch for keeping goods safe. The only thing not 100% awesome about this jacket is that the pockets are unlined, so they can be cold when you first put your hands in. But that is so minor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, light and bright I got a medium and its a nice fit, Im 5’5”/155lbs. There’s room for base layer and fleece under it. The arms are a good length, the elastic round the wrist keeps drafts out. There is also an elastic pull cord round the waste to keep drafts out the bottom jacket, but I dont find this a problem as the body is long enough. The pockets an ok size, but not that big, my large gloves don’t fit. Also an inside pocket which holds glasses. The jacket is surprising warm for something so light and thin. I dont use it day-to-day, only hiking or camping. It fits nicely into weekend or week backpack and I didnt think I would go anywhere without it. I went for yellow and love it, though I admit its bright.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfectly Puffy I was looking around for a great puffy jacket and I'm so happy I found this one! It's lightweight, yet SO warm...sometimes too warm (which is just have to master the art of layering). Also, its available in a variety of bright colors, which is always a plus! I really like this jacket for Fall and Winter hiking/camping, because it is so warm and can be folded up really small to fit into a pack. It's not waterproof but mine has gone through a few pretty hefty soakings and still lives to tell the tale...I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a good puffy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great compact warm jacket! I purchased this jacket because I'm going to be traveling this winter and needed something that would keep me warm but not take up too much room in my suitcase. I recently moved from Florida to Massachusetts and I'm a serious wimp when it comes to cold but this jacket keeps me nice and warm. I would love it was just a tad bit warmer but overall I'm thrilled with my purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alyssa W I recently got this jacket and love it! I wear it daily and get compliments on it all the time. It's warm, fashionable and super comfy. I recommend getting this product if you're looking for a cute, warm, and lasting coat! It's great for just about any winter activities. It is rain resistant, wind resistant, and never fails to keep me warm and looking great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would wear everywhere and will. This jacket is warm, rain proof, wind proof. It's cute (I have the purple) and a great piece. the only thing is the neck is cold in the wind without a hood. I bought it that way since my primaloft layer has a hood. Definitely a great purchase for New England winter ice and mountain climbing!
