Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waterproofing wears off I have had this jacket for less than a year and used it only a few times for rainy runs. At the beginning it performed very well in hard rain, but eventually the water proofing seems to have worn off. It completely soaks through in a few minutes. I was recommended to waterproof it using specific outdoors products by customer support, so I bought a kit (Nikwax) with an outdoors specific detergent (I never washed the jacket before) and a waterproofing spray. I carried out the waterproofing following the instructions carefully, however the jacket seems not to have regained its qualities, as it soaked through again in about 10 minutes on my run in heavy rain last weekend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it. I have had this jacket for about a year. It is amazingly light and easy to carry with me. I've worn it in heavy and light rain and it has always worked very well. I did have some difficulty when I washed it - the top layer of fabric wrinkled up in a very unattractive way (the only reason I rated it only 4 stars for quality). However, I sent it in under the warranty, and Marmot will be replacing it. The warranty process was quick, easy, and the service was nothing short of exceptional. I certainly hope the replacement jacket washes better than the original one, but I could not be happier with the service I received.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket for warm climates I was looking for a rain coat that works in at hot, humid climate. Most rain jackets are made with winter in mind but if you live in a hot, humid local where it rains hard and often in the summer you want the lightest, thinnest jacket WITH a hood (why would anyone make a rain jacket with no hood??!) that can withstand torrential downpours. This is perfect. As thin as possible yet totally water proof and extremely well made. You won't be disappointed!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waterproofness I bought two of these jackets after losing the original. The reason for my purchase was to meet mandatory gear requirments on certain trail runs. I have been very disappointed with this product. In a shower, it does not keep me dry. The rain does not bead off the garment but it seems to become saturated and, in turn, makes my skin very wet and cold. I have applied a waterproofing agent on it which seemed to intially slow down the rate of water saturation until the garment, once again, became saturated and I was soaked to the skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome raincoat, stop thinking and just buy it! I LOVE this raincoat! ,,Pros:,,1. It's extremely light weight which means I can ball it up or stuff it into its own pocket and have it with me if it might rain at some point, which is just what I wanted (both for hiking and just for errands, etc.). ,,2. It's strong; kicking around in my purse has NOT resulted in tears,,3. It's completely waterproof, no issues there. ,,4. The hood sits well because it has a little brim in the front... you can't really see it, but it keeps the area above your forehead out a bit and rounded so that rain drips down the sides, or off far enough in front of the face that you don't get wet from it. GREAT design. ,,5. My husband has the Super Mica (there wasn't a women's Mica line at the time) and they are equally good jackets, pretty much indistinguishable. ,,Cons:,,The only negative is that the material really is thin; I got the Lithium, which is a very pale grey and translucent, so you can see what I'm wearing underneath. No big deal, but good to know.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Super lightweight, but not very durable I had this jacket for about a year and a half. I absolutely loved. It's super lightweight, easy to pack, and definitely keeps the rain out. But, mine too started losing the lamination inside in the arm pit area. I sent it in and will be getting a replacement under warranty. It's a nice service, but the whole process is still an inconvenience to have to deal with. I'll probably end up getting the same model because I don't want to deal with a heavier jacket. Hopefully the next one will be better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Treat it gently It does a pretty good job for its intended purpose, but don't ever put it in the washing machine as the label suggests - mine delaminated. I would hand wash if you even had to. Although it's ultralight I found it can get still get hot - but I think that's the nature of any jacket ... pit zips would have been nice. I'm buying another because there's little out there that compares (that's not ugly), and you can get it in a nice silvery white color - good for on the bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome I got this jacket for running in the rain.  I know, crazy.  I wore it on a trail race in torrential rain and it kept me dry and warm, but well ventilated too.  The fabric breathes exceptionally well and it is as light as air.  Thev outside surface is slick and abrasion resistant.  Worth every penny I spent.
