DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Marmot DriClime

Marmot DriClime
Marmot DriClime is a mesh composed of two different denier yarns which work together to maximize breathability, prevent condensation and wick moisture. This means you can be as active as you want in the outdoors and remain dry and comfortable. Do you ever think, "I wish I were all wet and gross"? I didn't think so. Dry and comfortable all the way.

PrimaLoft insulations and fabrics

PrimaLoft was originally developed to serve as a water resistant, synthetic alternative to goose down for the U.S. Army. Since then PrimaLoft has been a leader in insulation and fabric technologies in the outdoor industry, and is used by the top outerwear and clothing brands to craft pieces that offer warmth without bulky weight, packablity, and both water resistance and breathability for all your outdoor adventures.

If you haven't heard of GORE-TEX by now, you've probably been living under a rock. And that would make sense, because living under a rock is probably the only place where you wouldn't need the durable waterproof and windproof protection that GORE-TEX fabrics offer. So when you're ready to venture out from under your rock, arm yourself with the comfortable protection of GORE-TEX.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite glove I have had a few different sets of gloves, I hate mittens. I have had some from the eight-legged brand, and other outdoor wear makers. There are my favorite, and go to glove. Have skied all over the rockies, from cold Jackson Hole powder mornings, to Utah and through the snow machines, and wet Colorado snow. I love these gloves, and plan on adding a second set, just to rotate when on the longer ski trips, and have a backup for if my others ever break. I love the leather as it allows a more natural use of my hand. I personally don't just the nose wipe, I use a bandana that I carry. Never had a wet hand, and mine stays warm, or at least not frozen. I have been out on the unbarably cold days, and then you notice it, but you would in any glove. I don't use heater packs, or wear liners.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as warm as it used to be This is my second pair of USG's as I was very happy with my previous pair. While there are a few design changes, I don't feel they are all positive changes. The wrist leash is harder to tighten than the old squeeze toggle. The cuff is not as long as it used to be. Most importantly - and most disappointingly, they are not as warm as my old version. There is more leather around the fingers - a big plus as that is where my old gloves wore out. I could ignore most of the negative design changes (in my opinion), but warmth is what I needed most and these no longer provide it. I do not ski in a cold climate and my fingers get cold quite quickly. They are comfortable to wear, provide my big hands and fingers with the room they need, and appear to be long lasting. Just a little shy on the warmth side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Dry This is my third pair of Ultimate gloves. I get in 30 to 50 days a season. These gloves hold up for years at a time. My hands are always warm and dry. Never have to think about my gloves. The folks who say their hands are cold with these gloves might be very sensitive to low temps? For me the gloves are worth every penny. Gloves and boots will make or break your freezing cold weather days. Why screw around?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed Can't believe how poorly these perform. I was blaming my old age on why my fingers got cold so quickly. So, this evening, with 6 inches of snow or so, temp in the 20's and calm, I started shoveling. Like usual after about 20 minutes my fingers very cold. Since this happened many times, I finally switched to my old gloves and after another 40 minutes, my fingers are happy, toasty warm.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Definately Not the Ultimate Ski Glove Very Dissapointed with the Ultimate Ski Glove I feel very mislead buying a glove called the "Ultimate Ski Glove." that is simply not very warm and good down to only maybe 20 degrees. Another issue is there is no place to add a heater pack to help on really cold days. Considering what I paid for these gloves, my expectations were much higher and I feel let down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second pair My first pair lasted through years of skiing and ice climbing in Colorado. The second pair is just as great. Durable, warm for a glove, with great dexterity. Knuckle protection for tree bashing. Still haven't seen anything on the market that measures up to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ski Gloves, Period! This is my third pair of these gloves. My first pair lasted over 200 ski days and my second pair was stolen by my son when his hands got big enough. I just bought this new pair and they are the best yet! Please don't tell my son.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm Actually inherited these from a buddy. Warmest glove in my arsenal. Warm enough I could justify shelling out the 175 for a new pair whenever these wear out, which doesn't look to be anytime soon
