The Marmot Tungsten 3P Tent is a three person tent for spending time in the outdoors. Hit the trail with one or two hiking partners and the Tungsten can house all three. The tent is constructed with durable polyester taffeta and 100% polyester no-see-um mesh, the transition from taffeta to mesh is visible when the tent has been pitched, a diagonal that allows both privacy and breathability. The freestanding tent is easily pitched, with only three poles to worry about (two main and one brow). Each main pole features pre-bends at either end, creating more vertical interior space. When the winds howl and rain starts falling, throw the rainfly over top for protection and you're also treated with two vestibules, one over each door. What more could you want? Probably a footprint, and yep, that's included.

Very Good Quality, Well Ventilated.I'm very happy with my tungsten tent. I've owned this tent for exactly a month and used it 3 times. It has many useful features such as flashlight holders, rainfly vents, big rainfly with a lot of room, and sealed/durable seams. I however am a little annoyed it only came with 6 stakes (12 different spots to put them) and 4 lines (6 needed), but everything else is fine.

Rain PROOF!I love this tent. Spent too many nights miserable in a soaking wet tent. After many reviews, I bought this tent and used it on top of a waterfall on beautiful lake Jocassee in South Carolina.
Thunderstorm popped up out of no where, rained 3 inches in 30 minutes. No leaks!!! Other folks in the campsite were soaked, I stayed cozy and dry. Make sure you put all the guy lines out and everything to make sure rain doesn't roll down the rain fly and onto the mesh. Wonderful tent, could use some more stakes but I ain't complaining. Pretty heavy to go backpacking with unless you have a friend to split the load.... God Bless and safe adventures!!

Excellent rain protection!I bought one of these last week for a solo camping trip this past weekend, and it was amazing. For one person, it was like being in a fancy hotel suite. Tons of room for gear, and sprawling out. That night, a pretty hellacious thunderstorm rolled through and pounded my camp overnight and into the middle of the next morning, and I stayed completely dry. I'm thoroughly pleased with this tent, and look forward to many more uses. All of that said, there are a few areas that I think could use improvement. As someone above mentioned, the door-opening is opposite the rainfly opening, when the fly is staked out. It's a bit awkward getting in and out. Also, the ties for holding the rainfly in the open position started to have drops of water on the inside of the fly, but it didn't really affect the inside of the tent. I also noticed some micro-sized beads of water on the top of the mesh portion of the tent, but again, wasn't affected on the inside of the tent. One thing I was a bit discouraged about was the lack of an included gear loft. I noticed that there were loops on the top of the inside for securing one, but, unlike the limelight, that I was looking at before going with the tungsten, it wasn't included.

This tent meets all expectations!I bought this tent with the intention of doing a combination of car and backpack camping. It has come on two car trips so far but would easily be carried between two people for backpackers. The setup and breakdown are simple and sturdy. It provides the perfect amount of space for two adults and a dog, some bags inside the tent and under the rain fly. The orange color looks sharp, not too much of a "warning," and the materials are strong. I bent one stake ever so slightly (read: still certainly usable) but that may have been because my mallet was too heavy. That is truly my only complaint so far though - it is all around an excellent tent! My favorite part is how they've situated pockets inside the tent for every day carry items and how the interior is so roomy and cozy.

excellent value for a nice tentNice size for a three person tent. Easy to pitch. I would agree that 6 more stakes should come with tent and more tie out rope.
Otherwise I would recommend it.

More Bang for BuckThe only gripe I have is Marmot could spend some money on quality made stuff sacks for the tent, Really Marmot when you get your tent ditch the sacks and buy something that will actually protect your gear. The tent is more than worth protecting

Nice tent - needs better instructionsI just got the tent today and am practicing the setup before heading out on the trail. The instructions could be better, including what several of the tabs/attach points are used for. It looks like 6 more tent stakes would help.

Couldn't Have Asked For MoreNormally I don't like taking new gear out on an extended multi-day (16) kayaking trip before doing at least one overnight shakedown especially when it comes to tents. However, having the opportunity to check out a fully assembled Tungsten 3P where I bought it I was convinced that it would do well for my wife and I and we weren't disappointed.
Living on the west coast of Vancouver Island we get a bit of every type of weather during the summer including dense fog, sun, howling wind, rain and lots of blowing sand to contend with. We loved how the pre-bends create vertical walls providing a larger interior and especially how one end of the tent has a wall extending almost 30 inches which came in handy when the wind and sand was blowing. The four interior pockets were great for storing items like headlamps, bear spray or anything we needed to have quick access to. I also really liked the two lampshade pockets for lights when reading or storing fragile items like my glasses.
We found the Tungsten 3P very easy to set up even if only one of us was doing it. Yes it would have been nice to have 6 extra stakes provided with the tent but it wasn't a show stopper as I always carry extras with me anyway. One of the reasons that we bought the Tungsten 3P was that I could easily exit the tent without having crouch down so low to clear the vestibule pole like I have experienced in the past. Another big plus was that it comes with a footprint that fits the tent so we didn't have to try and find an after market model.
The Tungsten 3P performed exceptionally well in the conditions that we used it in over the past 16 days and we are both extremely happy with our purchase. Great tent!!
What are the dimensions of this tent when it is packed up and in the bag?

Thanks for reaching out to us! I doubt I need to tell you, but Marmot is one of the best tent makers we carry. You've got a good eye. As for the packed size (In Stuff Sack) that will be 22 x 8in (56 x 20.3cm). Hope this helped you out!
