The Marmot Tungsten 2P Tent is a backpacking tent for two people. Pre-bent corners on the free-standing tent poles create more liveable space on the inside, while the clips attach the tent body to the poles, also increasing inside space. Super simple to set up, so you're not fiddling around too much if you end up having to set up camp in the rain. Dual doors allow you to exit the tent quickly, instead of climbing over your tent partner at 1am for a bathroom break, and the rain fly even includes two vestibules, for plenty of gear storage. Lay back and listen to the wind rustling the leaves of the trees, yep, that's right, jingle-free zippers mean you can hear a nightly woodland friend coming from miles away.

Good looking, light weight, easy pitch.I bought this tent last year for a backpacking trip in the Catskills. My tent--thanks to UPS screw-ups (not Moose's)--arrived a mere 15 minutes before I had to bolt out the door to meet my group (versus 2 days sooner, which was how it was shipped!), so I didn't have time for a backyard dry run. We arrived at our campsite around midnight and wound up pitching my never-been-opened-before tent in the dark (solo). I went up in just a few minutes with no problems! :)) The footprint seems a bit thin to me, but so far, so good. Really happy with my tent--very spacious, good-looking, light weight, easy to pitch/pack. Only 3 beefs (hence the 4 stars): 1) not a warm tent; even in my down bag fully dressed, I was freezing at 45*; 2) the pole that supports the fly seems like it could puncture the fly--time will tell; 3) what good are 'D' doors if the fly has an 'A' opening? Helloooo? I realize the doors aren't a full D, but they're easier to navigate than the fly opening--by a lot. Hindsight: I wish I'd gotten the 3man for the extra height.

Versatile!I bought this for my boyfriend as a gift. He has found it holds up to wind and rain, and that it can easily be stowed in a backpack for multiple day hikes. If definitely recommend it!

Great tentGreat tent, BUT the listed pack size of 18" is not entirely correct. I purchased specifically to fit in a luggage case on a KLR 650. The case measures 19.25 inches. The tent fits but the tent poles are 20" long. They still fit at an angle but gobble up limited space meant for other items. Once again, great tent but the specs are not accurate.

More spacious than expectedMarmot has designed well on the interior space of this tent! There is plenty of room to sit-up and stretch about without feeling trapped, even with two people in the tent. At 5'8" height, we were pleasantly surprised that with our head at one end of the tent, we had enough room to store our packs inside below our feet if needed. Tent seems to be of decent quality material and craftsmanship. No complaints on the tent at all!
The "one-piece" joined poles can be clumsy on assembly, but work well. As another review mentioned they are long when stored and I have to slip them from the top of my 65L pack, all the way through the sleeping bag compartment to the bottom. For packing, you'll more than likely end up separating the poles from the tent and fly. It may be a little thing, but I was a little disappointed that the storage bags were only cheesy ribbon ties and not drawstrings. Ribbon ties are a pain and always come undone, spilling the contents. Since we are separating the poles, we'll pretty much throw out all the storage bags.
The cross-pole, which gives you such spacious headroom, does make me a little concerned when installing the rain-fly. It just seems to poke into the side of the rainfly and create too much of a pressure point. There is some re-enforcing where the seams come together on the rain-fly, so it may wear just fine.....time will tell!
A nice extra is that a footprint is included. It is not a tough footprint, but rather more of a second floor to keep your tent bottom clean and take a little of the wear. If you need a footprint that provides some toughness, plan on purchasing one separately.
With the awesome Moosejaw savings, we paid $152.00 for our Marmot Tungsten 2. We couldn't buy it fast enough at that price....how can you go wrong!

Bigger than I expectedThe tent showed up in a pretty large box and I was scared. I purchased this tent because the pack weight and pack size was better than others at a comparable price. Also this tent comes with the footprint and that is a bonus. It arrived and I took this monster out of the box! Apparently a pack size of 18"x7" is a lot larger than I expected. But I can say, that as a person who can not perform even one push-up, it is considerably light. So I did the old backyard set-up test and it was very easy to erect and I was impressed by the amount of room inside. Also love the fact that it has two doors. One thing that I did notice is that the footprint doesn't appear to be very tough. I may just bring my trusty old tarp instead if it doesn't work out. Over all I am happy with my purchase and I can't wait to actually try this thing out in the woods.

Awesome for the priceI was looking for a relatively lightweight tent for casual backpacking and everyday camping trips. After a bunch of research, the tent seemed to be the best option for the price. Having used it now on a few occasions, I am really happy with my choice. It's super easy and quick to setup, and seems pretty durable. We'll see how it lasts; but for now, I couldn't be happier.
