"Great bag for the price" 03/13/12
I just used this bag for the first time on a climbing trip to the New River Gorge, WV (car camping). Night time temps were in the upper 20s, and it was plenty warm. I was comfortable in a capilene base layer in the bag. The waterproof shell handled condensation well without making me feel clammy. Bottom line, I would recommend this bag for someone on a budget who wants a nice bag but doesn't want to cough up a ton of cash.
"Construction is good, the down is not" 02/29/12
Bought this bag for my teenage kid after using marmot bags for 13 years. Construction is pretty good, only thing lacking that I could tell is a closure velcro strap on the inner collar. My real gripe is with the down. I know it is only 600 and my usual bags are 800 but I figured it would be packed with more and still puff out. It doesn't. The collar is underfilled and the draft tubes look almost completely flat. The main body is a little better but still underfilled. I bought this on sale and still feel that it isn't worth the money. Rated to 15, didn't keep my son warm at 28 inside a tent with a good mattress pad.
"very warm. very lightweight. very packable." 06/22/11
i took this on a 4 day, 40 mile backpacking trip through zion in october. temps were in the 30s at night and i stayed very warm in this bag. there's a small zipper pouch on the exterior. good for a small flashlight in case you have to get up in the middle of the night. comes with a compression sack and a larger bag to keep it in so that it's not stuffed down when you're not using it. i'm 5'8 and 150 pounds and there is PLENTY of room. i wore long underwear to sleep one night and i overheated and took everything off (oh hello) and slipped it towards the bottom of the bag and still had room to spare.
"Waterproof down sleeping bag... Need i say more" 08/03/10
It is great, feels like sleeping on a cloud. I do not have a lot of experience with down insulated gear, but it compresses a lot, and is pretty light weight. The only weird thing is that it holds air when you stuff it, i guess its the waterproof membrane.
