The Marmot Plasma 30 Sleeping Bag is a backpacking sleeping bag for long days on the trail. The 875+ fill power goose down is encased in vertical baffles, surrounding your core and transfering heat to your extremeties. The Flow Gate Construction inside the baffles allows the heat to circulate within the bag, all without letting the down shift and move, preventing cold spots. The Pertex Quantum fabric is 100% nylon 10D micro ripstop, the fancy way of saying it's super light, durable, and oh yeah, it's coated with a durable water repellent for water resistance. This light fabric, along with the down inside of it, allows the bag to be compressed down into the included stuff sack that won't take up all the space in your pack. The full length zipper is protected by a draft tube, preventing cold air from sneaking inside your snug sleeping pod. Cinch the hood down on colder nights and don't fret about wet conditions, the down is treated with Down Defender, kicking up the water resistance another notch.

Marmot Down Defender helps prevent down from clumping when exposed to water or moisture. This allows it to keep its loft, which equates to greater insulation. Nothing will stop the specially treated, highly water-resistant down from trapping warm air next to your body.

my best bag ever! This is a great bag, it looks as good as it feels! There really is nothing to dislike about the plasma 30. It's very well made and thought out construction make it a pleasure to use. This is a very high spec bay that works!

Performance without compromiseI've had this bag for about 1 year now, I am 6'3" aprx 215 pounds, and a size xl in most clothing. I purchased the long size and find its actually too long, the footbox has a lot of room when I secure the draft collar propperly. Now that my own complaint is out of the way, the positives of the bag are many. Specs aside (they speak for themselves and the weight is actually really accurate) the bag is unbelievably warm, I have used down to about 20 degrees ambient temp inside a tent with a breeze and light rain and was toasty (wearing only compression shorts, I sleep hot though so take that with a grain of salt) the best test though was in early September in southern sierras, about 9500 feet elevation, aprx 30 degree ambient temp and pouring rain, my tents DWR actually failed on the base (I was floating on about 2 inches of water that was passing under my tent on its way down hill) the bags fabric repelled the water completely and I stayed dry and warm. In the worst possible conditions I could reasonably expect out of the bag it performed flawlessly. The bag is also extremely comfortable, I find the material breaths well enough that I don't get the sticky feeling you get with a lot of UL materials. If I took the same money and had to buy a bag all over again today I would happily purchase the plasma 30; in regular length though.

Excelent Sleepping BagMarmot Folks, I purchased this bag a couple of years ago and have spent many nights, nice and toasty warm thanks to this bag. I have two back up sleeping bags but had to refuse a last minute camping trip with a buddy because this bag was in the mail I had sent ahead for another trip to northern Minnesota and I just didn't want to take the risk of even one cold night. Funny enough when I let (read force) friends try out this bag in the living room within 5 seconds of them feeling it they can't believe how soft and fluffy it is and then we go through how the different draw cords work and then mere seconds later there begging to get out of it because they are already "sweating to death". Cracks me up every time. Thank you.

Great bag, love it!This bag is really light, packs down really small, and has a great warmth to weight ratio! A nice high-quality bag! The sizes seem to be a little small. I own a Marmet lithium membrane 0° bag in the regular size and it fits me great. I ordered this bag in a regular length it was a little shorter but I still fit (it's supposed to fit people up to 6' and I am 5'10"). But the width of the bag was more narrow, to the point I could not rest my arms at my sides (my waist is 36" and my shoulder wdith is about 20"). Sent the regular size back and got the long size just because of the additional width. If you are a slim build and under 5'10" tall the regular will be fine for you. But if you are a little wider build and taller than 5'10" definitely go with the long. Other than that this is an awesome bag!

Great bag for bicycle touring. The Marmot Plasma 30 has been through a couple ten day bicycle tours with me. The first tour temps were in the 40's and 50's at night. The bag sleeps very comfortably in these conditions. My last tour had some really bad weather. Rainy, windy, and cold. A few nights the temperature got into the low 30's and high 20's. The bag was a little uncomfortable at those temps. I found staking out the rain fly giving the tent more ventilation kept condensation from collecting in the tent. This increased air-flow but still slept warmer due to the condensation not collecting on tent rain-fly and sleeping bag. The insulated collar and face muff really came in handy on the cold nights.
Had a couple mishaps, a water bottle got squeezed on the bag in the middle of the night, another time the bag got drug out into the rain during a midnight trip to the bathroom. Both mishaps put a considerable amount of water in the bag. These situations would have been miserable with most bags, but the Plasma while unpleasant kept me pretty warm. Bag dries very quickly with a little sunlight or airflow.
The pack size and weight of the bag are incredible for a bag with this feature set and 30 degree rating. Overall I am very happy with the bag and can not wait to test the bag in milder weather (70 degree nights).
