"The Marmot Pinnacle 15 Degree is my go-to sleeping bag for anytime there is uncertainty in the weather. It's 800-fill down keeps you warm into the low teens (I've stayed warm all the way down to zero), keeps the bags weight below 3 pounds, and allows it to pack down nice and small to around the size of a football. Also, the quality is outstanding. I've owned this bag for seven years now, and it still lofts up beautifully every time. I have lighter bags and I have warmer bags (I probably own too many bags), but I always seem to fall back on this one to cope with the schizophrenic Michigan weather. If you own only one bag, I believe the Pinnacle 15 is one of the best options out there."

"Light and Cozy, Awesome!" 12/07/11
I have to admit that I usually use a $40 synthetic sleeping bag which always leaves me desiring much. I spent a couple of nights in the Pinnacle and it is great. I did find it has a bit of a cold spot in the foot area after spending a cold night sleeping under the stars in Wyoming this fall (I woke up and the bag was totally covered in frost though...so it was pretty cold). As soon as the sun came out it dried out nicely. The other night I was a bit warm but by opening the zipper at the bottom it provided great ventilation. It is super light and warm.
"Great value but...." 10/20/11
This is a great bag, no question. But if I were to shop for a bag all over again, I would have coughed up another one or two hundred dollars for a bag with a Membrane water resistant layer. This bag is a great value, but for someone who plans to use it regularly, it will not continue to satisfy. The DWR works great at repelling water on new bags, but this finish wears away with use and will have to be reapplied. Your down is not going to last as long if it continues to get wet. My recommendation: Coin up and go for the Never Summer EQ.
"Love this bag!!!" 01/05/11
Bought a large cuz i'm 6'2" 220 and i fit great with a few extra inches. I imagine around 6'6" could sleep comfortably. It's light weight, stuffs down to the size of a pineapple (with the green stuff) and it's warm as can be. In upper teens i slept with nothing but my whity tighties and a hat on. I did rip a hole in it and just patched it with some duct tape until i was back in civilization where Marmot patched it up for me. Now i know not to drape it over a thorn bush to air it out :)
"Best value for the price unbelievable quality" 12/06/10
Bought this bag after taking my awesome kick ass Slumberjack camping with a liner, waking up with cold spots all around me. Resolved to bite the bullet. Bag is roomy, tight if you have wide shoulders like me - but still comfortable. I love the collar that seals the bag below your neck. Foot box is fattest part of bag - cold feet no more. I've tested on my back porch sub 30-25 so far, no cold to be found. Cinch cord closes mummy down to a mouth sized hole if you want. I am a side sleeper, and there is enough room to maneuver comfortably. Matching this with NeoAir large. Shell very sturdy and packs down small. Is it a football - no - does it keep my fat keister toasty? Yes. Go for it.
"Awesome Bag That Will Last For Years!!" 11/17/10
I love this sleeping bag. Marmot has a good thing going on here and the sooner you get with it the better. I had only used synthetic sleeping bags prior to this and had many cold nights even when the temperature was well above the bag's rating. With the Pinnacle that has all stopped. The 800 fill down compresses down super small, but within a few minutes of being out of the stuff sack it's ready to envelope you in it's warm care. The finish on the outside helps to keep water beading off, which is nice because condensation can be a threat. I also like the fact that the bag was stuffed with down here in the good old USA. I'm looking forward to years of warmth and comfort.
"Great cold weather bag, great value" 10/16/10
The pinnacle 15 blows away all other 15 degree bags of have tried to date. The rating is very conservative, this bag is really comfortable down to 5-10 degrees especially when paired with a silk liner. Last weekend I was camping in 25 degree weather and had the bag half unzipped.
"Another Exceptional Marmot Product" 09/13/10
I am 6'1" and 225 lbs. I toss and turn a lot but it is not an issue with this bag. It is spacious and does not make me feel confined. I also have room in the footbox for the next days clothes if necessary. I have not hiked with this bag yet but wanted to test the rating so I spent two nights with my son in the back yard. The first night got down to 19 degrees and the second night was 17 degress. I did not wake up from being cold on either occasion. I also own a Marmot Arete (40 degree bag) and several other Marmot products. I have had nothing but success with Marmot.
"Great bag, awful service" 09/18/08
CALL before you order. misleading ship dates and in stock status. great bag, took it on the superior hiking trail for as long as i could stomach it; bag just kept going. super warm, compresses to next to nothing. great color and feel; for the price, you cant beat it.
"Definitely worth the money." 03/01/07
In the past, I always bought/used high quality synthetic down bags with the Polarguard D insulation. I camped in rain forest, tops of mountains, and the humid south. Last fall I decided to try the Marmot down bag. This bag is incredible. I sleep cold and need a bag 20-30 degrees colder than air temp. Not so with this bag. I was camping at 30 degrees and was hot in this bag. One more suggestion...I love my Exped 9 down mat. I would never consider camping without it. Between the Exped and the Marmot, I can't imagine a better combination.
