The Marmot Men’s PreCip Jacket is so legit for those dull, rainy days. Well, you could make them un-dull by putting on the PreCip and going out and having fun outdoors still. This Marmot jacket is 100 percent seam taped, and is made from waterproof PreCip Dy Touch technology. So fancy. An elastic draw cord hem makes it easy to find the perfect fit, and this thing has a roll-up hood. Dang. You’ll probably want it to rain when you get this baby. Maybe not, but rainy days won’t be as bad.
If all you're looking for is to keep the rain off this will work, but there isn't a ton of functionality beyond that. It doesn't breath great, I get clammy to downright sweaty if it's hot out. The seam tape apears to be wearing in spots, it hasn't let water in yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. It fits large which I appreciate because I'm often in a canoe and slip this on over my life jacket, but not everyone will like it to be so baggy. Again it keeps the rain out so who cares right, but I'm ready for a jacket with more breathability, durability, and functionality, I don't know about you.
"Best 3 Season Raincoat available for under $250"
Got this jacket as a gift this summer. Packs away beautifully, vents great with the pit zips and is 100% seam taped to make it 100% waterproof. I searched far and wide for the raincoat i wanted because I didn't want to spend so much extra on a gore-tex rain jacket and this was the one that really grabbed me. Great job Marmot for this one!
"This jacket will last and survive a downpour"
I bought this jacket to replace my old PreCip jacket (it's about to be 6 years old). My previous one was used all year long for everyday use and used on hiking trips. From day to day and on the trail this jacket will keep you completely dry. I use this jacket every day while in Ecuador (I spent 2 months working at a camp and it rains everyday there). From a light afternoon shower to an absolute downpour this is my jacket of choice. The adjustment straps on the arms and then the drawstrings on the hood and waist insure that no water can find its way inside. While hiking you can open up the PitZips to let the jacket vent which it does really well. You can also open the up the pockets after it rains to make the jacket vent even more. Finally the jacket does a great job of stopping the wind. I use it all the time as a light windbreaker. Marmot makes quality jackets that last.
Bought this product when i was fat and man it can cover ya! It also keeps the rain off. Hood is to big and unfortunately i lost all that babyfat and now its huge on me. Moosejaw can i return this for a smaller size..just kidding..unless i can then sweet.
"For a year round biker in all elements this is a very good product."
The day I received my rain jacket I used it. The wind was blowing from all directions and so was the rain. I zipped up the jacket all the way and stayed nicely warm. Not to hot not to cold. Best of all I stayed dry. A big thumbs up. I like the zippers as well. Easy to get a hold of with gloves on. In the low 40s today and with just a light long sleeve underneath I was very comfortable in my ride. This jacket is made of a good heavy material, what ever it is. The big test for me is when I get caught in a down pour. That is the true test of a water/wind proof jacket. When that happens I will give a followup on this product.
This jacket is far better than I expected. The material is thicker, the zippers stronger and the hood fits well. I would recommend this to a friend and will in fact do it. I like the fit and function and it definitely keeps you dry. I've worn it as my regular rain jacket and I think it is far superior to other jackets I own, but at half the price. Plus it is so lightweight I can stuff it easily into a small pocket on my back-pack. I'm a casual hiker and have taken this through monsoonal rains and it performed wonderfully. Not wet anywhere, not even the seems. I recommend you buy this now as they may run out down the road. Thanks Moosejaw.
I bought this jacket because of the reviews that I read about it online. This jacket will keep you dry. As for breath ability it is okay. This jacket does fold down into itself but I do wish that it was a little smaller when folded down. I would definitely buy this jacket again.
Excellent protection from the worst rain storms, great true to size fit and adjustability. The vented pits and pockets make this jacket very comfortable for extended wearOnly drawback to this jacket is its pack size is only average and Id like to see it pack smaller for its price.
I bought this jacket before i went on a 13 day trip along the Colorado Plateau. This jacket kept me dry in rain and snow for the first couple days spent in Colorado. The pit zips are really helpful on warmer days and provide great ventilation. I am very happy with this jacket and would recommend this jacket to anyone.
