The Marmot Men's Traveler Jacket is a long rain jacket for heading to work and out-of-town travels in unsavory weather. The MemBrain fabric is 100% waterproof and breathable for staying dry without overheating. The seams are taped to prevent leakages with a storm flap to cover the front zipper to keep water out and provide a clean look. All pockets feature water resistant zippers to secure glove liners and a snack bar on the way into the daily grind. The inside of the jacket features a zippered pocket for storing more important items like your phone or mp3 player. Falling to the mid-thigh, the long length ensures your suit and tie stay dry. The hood keeps your hair slicked back with the AM gel, or remove it on mild days for a classy look on the streets.

Marmot MemBrain fabrics utilize a polyurethane laminate that perfectly balances performance for anything nature can throw at you. Waterproof, breathable and durable. That's what we call the trifecta. If I were more clever I'd call it the dry-fecta, but I'm not. Anyways, the external protection coupled with minimal internal condensation adds up to pure comfort.

Stylish and versatile jacketThis jacket is aptly named. Over the past 3 months this is the only jacket I take when traveling where carry-on space is at a premium. It packs down small and looks great pulled right out of the bag. So far I've used it in pouring rain, sub-freezing cold, and out on the town. The seam-taped zippers not only look good, but keep out the water. And the pocket lining - I know, not exactly the 1st thing you look for in a jacket- but the pocket lining is so silky soft in this jacket I had to comment. I put a sweater under it and was all set in the freezing wind. I found the sleeves a bit long for my size, but they look fine folded up at the cuff.

Great Coat - But for the FitI thought I had found the perfect travel coat. Looked great, had all the features I was looking for. Fit and finish were superior. Then I put it on. The fit was perfect through the arms, shoulders and chest (I ordered a medium). Then I zipped it up. While the chest area was still perfect, the hip area was so tight that I couldn't put a wallet in my back pocket or walk without the coat binding on my legs. I have a 35" waist and 42" hips and this was obviously not cut for someone with a little muscle on their lower body. Sadly, I will have to return it. Too bad, I thought it was just what I was looking for. Just 1-2 more inches in the hip would have made it work.

Perfect casual raincoatI wanted a longer thigh-length raincoat for walking, errands, and commuting. They're not too common, but Marmot, Patagonia, and TNF each make a version. This Marmot Traveler was the perfect option for me. I'm 5'6", 135 lbs and the Men's Small fits perfectly, even with a Nano-Puff-type jacket underneath. Think of this style parka as a long shell, without the technical backcountry appearance. That said, it has waterproof zippers, a huge snap on/off hood, poly-flannel lined front pockets and three other pockets inside and out. Now that I own it, I wish I had purchased it years ago!
I gave the coat just 4 stars on durability because, though I have worn it numerous times in lots of wind and rain, I have only had it a month.

Nice, but not for travelersWhile this is a nice jacket and fits over a sport jacket, it is not designed well for travelers. The inner pocket does not zip, and is too shallow. Travelers need security, and a breast pocket wallet sticks up almost two inches and would fall out easily. While the outer pockets do zip, they are also small. In my view, to be a traveler's jacket, all the pockets should zip up tight as jackets are taken on and off, and a myriad of other items juggled when getting on and off trains, etc.

Just what I was looking forI ordered this jacket after leaving a Marmot 3-in-1 i bought in 2010 in the airport. The Traveler jacket fits me better, and I like the longer length. I've been very happy with the water resistance and particularly like the brim on the hood. It is very functional. Overall this will prove better for my overall needs, which include day to day suburban use and travel.

Great coat and just the length I neededI had been struggling to reeplace an older shell with a waterproof coat of sufficient length to cover the fleece tops I continuously wear in the cool/colder months. This jacket fits the bill perfectly. I am 6'3", 205# with 35" sleeves and an XL fits perfectly. The coat is also significantly warmer than an unlined shell. The removeable hood is also a nice option.

Great middle weight coatExtremely happy with this coat. Very well made and looks great. Large pockets; and I keep detachable hood in one. Great for 40-60 deg temp.; and really waterproof.
Note: their sizes run true. I am a mens medium and their Med. just fits, so get next size up if you like it loose or between sizes
