The Men’s Sharp Point Jacket by Marmot is the Gore Windstopper Soft shell that defined the category with its stretchy wind and water resistant material keeping you comfortable and warm. You’re out for a hike in the cold. You push on, and then take a few short breaks, which is causing your body temperature to fluctuate. This full-zip soft shell jacket offers maximum breathability and allows freedom in movement that athletes need for enhanced performance. Constructed of soft, quiet, stretchy fabrics protecting your body from harsh elements. New technology prevents overheating and moisture build-up by allowing moisture vapor to escape easily, keeping you warm and dry on that expedition of yours. This fleece jacket was designed with robust, high quality stretch polyester on one side, and quick-drying polyester fleece on the other. Providing excellent versatility, the adjustable Velcro cuffs, pit zip vents, reinforced shoulders and elbows along with the Handwarmer pockets and Angel-Wing movement gives you all the options you need to adjust to the volatile climate. I like the Vapor Blue/Deep Blue Color combination option, my friends tell me I wear too much blue, but I think they’re just jealous because it brings out the color in my eyes.

"Good all around wind jacket/city jacket" 12/22/11
I was looking for a softshell jacket that was fairly well-fitted, warm, windproof, and water resistent. I am 5'7" 145 lbs and got a small. It does allow for a fleece layer underneath, but it fits relatively close to my body and has nice, high arm holes.Lots of thoughtful features like pit zips, well-placed pockets, and velcro cuffs which are really nice when you want a tight seal around your gloves. I can attest that the windstopper material really does work - I've had wind wipping through my jeans, while nothing got through this jacket. I would consider this a good jacket to run in during the cold weather season given the movement in the soft shell.
"Jacket is everything i thought it would be." 10/21/11
Have had the jacket for a couple of days, and it is exactly what i thought it would be. Its perfect for those cold Wisconsin trail runs, and stylish enough to wear around the hockey rinks. Im 6'1" 215lbs and got an XXL so i could put layers under if i wanted, but it still does not seem to bulky to wear by itself. Great jacket, i would recommend it to others.
"Great All Around" 05/06/11
I used this jacket for almost a year and a half through many different seasons up in America's High Five (thats Michigan). More or less a casual style it still worked great when dealing with the elements. Windstopper tech was great in late Fall early Winter when the snow started coming in. DWR repelled water in Spring and Fall showers and even worked good in the snow. I found it to be very light for my hiking but might not be the best option for the minimalistic type. Only downfall was there was no hood attached so without a seperate hat/cap/balaclava combo precipitation would roll down your neck. Was a great year and a half but had to move on.
"Quality soft shell, a bit heavy for backpacking, but great for urban adventures" 04/22/11
Made from Marmot's M1 material. At 5'8" and 145, the small fit me just fine. The neck was a bit loose and the collar a bit higher than I would like, but other than that a great fit. This is a great all purpose jacket. Breathable enough for spring and fall, warm enough for winter, and the material is quite water repellent. A bit heavier than I would like, but for its versatility and price, I think it's a great deal.
"Awesome, classic jacket." 03/21/11
DWR works great to shed water. Fleece backer and M1 class materials make it warm. Very slight stretch so good for movement, and the "angel wing" arm construction does very well to keep it from riding up when moving arms. Love the super-long pit zips, and bombproof build all around. And to top it off, looks very slick. Love this jacket!
"The Best, Period!" 02/15/11
After much researching, I settled on the Sharp Point and this is the best thing since sliced bread. Okay, the internets is pretty cool too (thanks Al Gore!). Arc'teryx, NF, MH, and OR all feel like your wearing tissue paper compared to the sharp point. Sure it doesn't have a hood, but that's what a pro shell is for. The fit is fantastic, I'm 6'1 and 220 lbs and the large fits great. It's warm to about 15 degrees with just a long sleeve Moosejaw t-shirt underneath, and the dwr coating is tha bomb. You won't be disappointed, plus the company is named after a cute mountain dwelling squirrel so how could you not like it.
"Go for the gold" 12/13/10
I recently bought this because I am in love with marmot. I do not like north face because it's overrated and I like to be a little different. But I bought the marmots superhero jacket which is 30 dollars more and I think more worth it. Go to your local outdoors store and find the marmot superhero, it has a hood and to comfortable.
"Windproof... And Much More" 11/25/10
Got it for hiking and hunting in gGreenbrier/Podohantas WVa... Way under-rated area that is... Jacket worked great for wind/sleet... I was really delighted how well it did in the rain as I got it primarily for cutting wind... Me likeeeee.
"Windproof and Much More" 11/25/10
Was looking for a windproof layer with some style... Go hiking and hunting in Greenbrier/Pocohanas Co. WVa.. All seasons, alot in late fall/winter. Soooo underestimated, that area is.I was really suprised how much it kept the rain out too.. Wasn't really looking for that. Got the green one, looks and works awesome.
"AWESOME!" 11/03/10
Wind has nothing on this jacket! Just bought this bad boy and its wonderful! Comfortable in temperatures from 30-70 degrees. Can't vouch for the durability yet, but it seems like it would withstand extensive abuse. Fits like a glove and is perfect for athletic activities.
"Awesome" 10/23/10
Super comfortable good looking. It has a great athletic cut to it so it doesn't get in your way if you're doing something active outside. Very wind-proof and with the Nikwax softshell treatment it becomes perfectly water resistant in moderate rain. I don't find it warm enough if the temp starts to get below freezing though. Perfect for the late fall and early spring where I live (30-50 degrees).
"The BEST softshell jacket you can purchase" 02/12/10
I have had this jacket for about 4 years, and it still looks new. It has great fit and function. It has served me very well in all sorts of activities. I have wore it snowboarding, trail running and mountain biking. If the time ever comes to replace it; I would buy the same jacket, and would pay double to do it. I can not believe that anything could be made better than this jacket.
