"Perfecto"  02/11/12

Picked a pair of these up for an ice climbing trip in the Whites of New Hampshire and they were absolutely perfect. Great range of motion as I never felt hemmed up in these pants. Light snow the first morning and the water repellent finish did just fine. Wore these with the R1 Fleece pants underneath and stayed warm all day in temps from between 9 to 25. Seem to be a very versatile pant as well. Taking these on the trail mid-March so will let you know how they do backpacking.

"The Go To Hiking Pant"  01/15/12

The reason I chose Marmot pants was that I am a tall fellow and I have heard they have pretty good tall pants. Well they are all around excellent. The bottoms are zippered and allow easy fit over most boots. They also have a handy pocket around the right thigh that is very handy for a small map or a bag of GORP. They have great maneuverability and have yet to ride up on me. These are good pants for a beginner or the seasoned hiker.

"Very versatile."  07/20/11

Very versatile. Tough, elegant, stretchy. Wear them with shoes, sneakers, or boots. Order one size down as they ran large for

"Great for Long Legs"  05/24/11

Excellent pants and very comfortable. They do run several inches long, though. While there is a sizing chart, the only options you have are pretty generic. If you're using them as a bottom layer and have some heavy duty boots on, they work great. If you're wearing them as stand-alone pants, they may drag. Aside from that, though, they have a super comfortable lining, great pocket space, and will keep you warm.

"Great Climbing Pants"  04/17/11

These are amazing pants for alpine climbing/mountaineering. Super stretchy material offers full range of movement. Durable material. For the price and performance you can't go wrong with the Scree Pant.

"I Live in these pant when I'm on a climbing trip"  02/22/11

These pants are super comfortable due to the weight of the fabric, the stretchiness and the pocket placements. I have worn a pair of these out over the last three years with at least 100+ days of wear per year. I had to buy a new pair because I finally wore a hole through one knee after all these years (stupid offwidth). Some people don't like how these pants are cut, they are an athletic cut somewhere between loose running tights and straight fit jeans. I like it, nothing to get in my way while climbing or hiking. If you want to a pair of pants that will last, feel comfortable and perform buy these!

"Stretch Goodness"  01/16/11

Low profile slim fit, plenty of goodies like zipper garages, ankle zips, ankle shock cord adjustments, and handwarmer pockets. Coupled with otherworldly stretchiness, they're tough to beat.I use them for anything active between about 15 and 50 degrees. Wind resistance is what you'd expect, clearly not windstopper, but good enough to avoid chills when hiking a ridge line below freezing. Holds off light rain pretty well. My preferred use is rock climbing, they're perfect for it, but great for backpacking as well.

"Very breathable, warm enough, water repellant = perfect mid-high exertion softshell"  01/07/11

Material: Breathes extremely well, very stretchy. DWR finish repels snow, but wets through quickly in driving rain. Good wind resistance; felt more wind through eVent hardshell top than through these in 30+ mph winds.Fit: (small fits a 32/29 perfectly) Close-fitting, not a lot of space for thick layering. Lots of room to move. With nice stretchy material never feels constricting.Features: Pockets are moderate size, but anything in them footprints through the material. Convenient space if you need to store something, but doesn't look sexy. Ankle zips and drawcord close around a boot nicely. With pair of Icebreaker tights underneath are ideal for snowshoeing in 20 -/+ degree weather.

"Nice fabric, not nice fit"  01/02/11

The pants were too tight. I wear a 29x30 and ordered a small. Seems as if these would get a lot of static. The moment I tried them on, I could feel it. Not sure what would have happened after washing though. Otherwise, the design was very nice and construction looked to be of high quality.

"Tough Pants"  12/16/10

Ok so I did a review on the North Face Outbound which I think are really awesome, but then I got these in the mail. Stretchy and fits like the Outbound pants but these pants are way tougher, more durable than the outbound, also the scree seems to be more H20 resistant. For hiking, climbing, skiing, 4 season pant the scree + a base layer is the way to go! The Outbound pant will work just the same as the Scree pant but just not as bullet proof. Dont get me wrong the outbound pant are really great too. Sizing is true, Im 32/33 & 6ft and I got a med. Scree pants- 5 stars / Outbound 4.8 starsNote: soft waist band material = comfy when wearing a pack

"Love 'em!!!"  05/02/10

These are my go to pants. Love the great fit, stretchy material, zipper pockets. Very comfortable. Used while hiking, biking, kayaking, rowing, XC-skiing and just in lieu of jeans.

"Great soft shell pants"  12/06/09

Great stretch, breathes well, repels water/snow well, and the fit is good. Too hot for moderate weather, but when the temps cool, these are great all day pants. Lots of pockets and the fit allows for a layer without being too baggy. Fabric seems durable too.
