The Marmot Men’s PreCip Jacket is so legit for those dull, rainy days. Well, you could make them un-dull by putting on the PreCip and going out and having fun outdoors still. This Marmot jacket is 100 percent seam taped, and is made from waterproof PreCip Dy Touch technology. So fancy. An elastic draw cord hem makes it easy to find the perfect fit, and this thing has a roll-up hood. Dang. You’ll probably want it to rain when you get this baby. Maybe not, but rainy days won’t be as bad.

For a year round biker in all elements this is a very good product. The day I received my rain jacket I used it. The wind was blowing from all directions and so was the rain. I zipped up the jacket all the way and stayed nicely warm. Not to hot not to cold. Best of all I stayed dry. A big thumbs up. I like the zippers as well. Easy to get a hold of with gloves on. In the low 40s today and with just a light long sleeve underneath I was very comfortable in my ride. ,, This jacket is made of a good heavy material, what ever it is. The big test for me is when I get caught in a down pour. That is the true test of a water/wind proof jacket. When that happens I will give a followup on this product.

groovy jacketThis jacket is far better than I expected. The material is thicker, the zippers stronger and the hood fits well. I would recommend this to a friend and will in fact do it. I like the fit and function and it definitely keeps you dry. I've worn it as my regular rain jacket and I think it is far superior to other jackets I own, but at half the price. Plus it is so lightweight I can stuff it easily into a small pocket on my back-pack. I'm a casual hiker and have taken this through monsoonal rains and it performed wonderfully. Not wet anywhere, not even the seems. I recommend you buy this now as they may run out down the road. Thanks Moosejaw.

Perfect for ANYTHING!I have this jacket with me anytime I see a cloud in the sky. Perfect for the cereal aisle at the grocery store, ordering fries with that, or dragging the canoe to the river. ,,,,In warm weather, just unzip the pits and you'll forget you're wearing it. I have wadded up this jacket hundreds of times to take it places and the seams and material still look new. The adjustable length hood has a small bill and is perfect for keeping water out of your eyes or pulling over a cap bill. I'm 5'11, 165 and the medium fits lit a dream. ,,,,I had the precip on once when I flipped the canoe and it even kept the bottom of the canoe dry...Amazing!

Epic FailI don't usually write product reviews but I am so unhappy with this jacket that I felt like I needed to write one as a public service. I love Marmot and I have many items that I am happy with but this jacket just doesn't hold water, literally. We own 3 of them as I bought one each for my wife, my son and myself. I have, at some point, worn each of them. I have never once stayed dry. My most recent experience was this weekend on a 3 day hike of the Catskill Escarpment Trail. It was raining to start, but after 5 miles I removed the jacket and was soaked through all layers with water running straight down my chest! Not at all a waterproof shell!

Dependable, High-value, SimpleA rain jacket is an essential piece of gear for the casual traveler, as well as the hardcore adventurer. The Pre-Cip, as one of Marmot's most basic designs, is a great all-around piece of outerwear. It is fitted well, has excellent ventilation due to the pit zips, and is very waterproof. The seams are securely taped on the inside. Water has no chance of permeating this layer. There are probably lighter, more compactable jackets for extremely weight-sensitive backpackers, but this thing does everything you need it to do. The price is fair, especially if you find a sale. Also, this thing is pretty stylish. At least it's not hideous.

This jacket is awesome.Wore this jacket today in the 1000 mph winds ripping through Ann Arbor (Okay, so maybe it was only fifty... or even only 15-20mph) and felt completely protected from wind burn. As this jacket is something that normally gets rave reviews for being a super rain protective jacket, it's also one that is good for wind protection as well. The technology that Marmot offers is something that of course is similar to others but is something that is needed in a rainy spring or fall season. It was a toss up between this jacket and a jacket produced by The North Face (with similar qualities) and chose this one due to its overall comfort.

This jacket performed so much better than expectations. Fits well & handles tropical depressionsI purchased this for my son. He is slender build and tall. The fit is true to size. We thought that we should try Key West this year instead of our normal hiking in a national park as a family trip. Beaches and ocean breezes were calling us. As you may have seen, Tropical storm Debbie parked on top of us. Our last three days saw 6 inches a day rain. This jacket handled that wind whipped rain very well, making the two mile walks across the key very tolerable. Ventalation with the pit zops performed well. The hood adjusted to his teenage head and stayed put. It performed So well, iordered another for my daughter.

Keeps the rain outIf all you're looking for is to keep the rain off this will work, but there isn't a ton of functionality beyond that. It doesn't breath great, I get clammy to downright sweaty if it's hot out. The seam tape apears to be wearing in spots, it hasn't let water in yet but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. It fits large which I appreciate because I'm often in a canoe and slip this on over my life jacket, but not everyone will like it to be so baggy. Again it keeps the rain out so who cares right, but I'm ready for a jacket with more breathability, durability, and functionality, I don't know about you.
