"Solid Insulation layer" 02/21/11
Bought this because I wanted to add a little insulation to my firee hoody to take it from an 80% jacket to a 90% jacket. Adds warmth without bulk, stylish on its own, nice finish which makes sliding the high loft firee over it easy and not an ordeal. great all around piece.

The Marmot Power Stretch is EXACTLY what I was looking for: an athletic fit, thin fleece stand-alone for mild temps or to use as an layer under my Mountain Hardwear Tech jacket for color temps. I took it out for a test drive as a LAYER (32 in Charlotte, NC today!) and it was perfect!

This is one of the most comfortable fleece's Ive ever owned. It is very light, stretchy, and WARM for its weight! Works great as a stand-alone garment for not-so-windy, not-so-cold days, as it breathes very well, but when the chill starts to set in, a windproof layer will turn this into a very warm insulating layer. The XXL fits my 6'4", 240lb frame quite well, and hugs the body to keep the warmth close. The long sleeves, and over-all long length of the garment is appreciated, as it never feels like its riding up. Another outstanding article from Marmot!
"A great layer, and a great jacket on its own." 10/12/10
This is a super-light, surprisingly warm jacket. It weighs hardly anything, has an athletic fit, and is amazingly comfortable. I am 5'8" and 140lbs with a runner's build, and a small fits me perfectly. It is very thin, but about as warm as a 200 weight fleece. My only complaint with it is that Polartec calls the Powerstretch fabric wind resistant, and it really isn't resistant enough for you to feel anything. However, all in all, it's an amazing jacket that I've used for running, just to wear around, and as a cold-weather layer.
