The Marmot Men's Gorge Component Jacket is a 3-in-1 jacket for cold weather, whether you're hitting the slopes or exploring the city. The Gorge Component has a 100% waterproof outer shell, courtesy of Marmot MemBrain 100% nylon plain weave fabric. It will stop the wind, rain, sleet and snow so you can stay dry in the harshest of weather. The liner jacket boosts the warmth with Thermal R synthetic insulation, which won't create too much bulk or weight, while still keeping you toasted on the inside. Each jacket includes hand pockets with zippers, while the liner has a single chest pocket and the shell two chest pockets. The storm hood is attached to the outer shell for stellar head protection and the powder skirt is zip-off so it won't get in the way on chilly city-adventures. Together the two jackets are a winter-weather buster, while separate they can take on mild weather forays into the outdoors.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Marmot Thermal R

Marmot Thermal R
Marmot Thermal R is an ultra-warm synthetic insulation for cold weather activities. Comprised of multi-channel and hollow fibers, it maximizes warmth while minimizing internal condensation and moisture. The hollow fibers are lofty and light for an excellent warmth to weight ratio. "Lofty and Light" would be a terrible name for a crime-fighting duo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally...a jacket that Finally...a jacket that performs as advertised. Bought this to replace a 5 year old, well performing bugaboo from Columbia. I tried their new omni heat liner.Aluminum dots=cold...plain and simple. Next I tried North Face atlas triclimate.Stood outside approximately 15 minutes in 26 degree temp and was cold. Next was this jacket, the gorge component. There is no need to look any further. This jacket is amazing. The fit is spot on...and it is WARM. As an off the wall test,I drove the 18 miles to work with all the windows down and the heat off in 28 degree temps.I never got cold.I am completely sold...thank you Marmot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket ever ! I have been running since 1967. The worse the weather the more I like to run. For years I have been looking for a jacket that could replace my trusty but worn out running jacket. I'm very picky when it come to running jacket design and features. This jacket could not be any better if I designed it myself. Velcro wrist closures, tons of pockets, hood stays in place. Cold air and rain stay out. The liner comes in and out easy. When the liner is in the jacket is very warm. You could take a closet full of jackets and replace them all with this one jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jacket I've Ever Had I have been searching for a jacket to replace my old beat up ski jacket and this proves to be the best one. Tested in Sugar Bush, VT on a - 15 F day (-40 F wind chill), I never felt a stitch of cold. The shell is completely waterproof and windproof. The micro-puff insert is functional as a stand alone jacket for days above 30 F. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. This is probably the last jacket I will ever buy!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Winter Jacket I've been wearing this jacket for about a month and it's the best winter jacket I have owned.  I've tested it in frigid Colorado snow (-10F) and cold Oregon rain (35F), and it has kept me warm and dry.  Great fit, helpful pockets.  Really like the warmth and fit of the inner layer on its own too.  This is now my third Marmot jacket and I'm really impressed with the value and quality.  Thanks for a great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect. I bought this in December just in time for the Arctic Vortex that hit the Midwest. At home in Indiana, the windchill reached -41F. Bundling up in the Gorge Component Jacket with just a sweatshirt underneath and a scarf, I was completely unaffected by the cold and wind for the 10 minutes I was outside. Since then I have been absolutely satisfied with it, both in terms of warmth and the features that go with it: The liner is quite warm by itself as well, and the shell is completely waterproof; I'm also pleased with the amount of pockets, the adjustable hood, and the warm pocket liners. I go to college on the North Shore of Massachusetts and have to walk about a half mile to school everyday. I have never been cold while wearing it. I definitely recommend Marmot and this jacket in particular. For those of you interested in sizing: I'm 5'11" and 160lbs and the Medium fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice jacket. I bought it more than year ago. Pros: universal, can be worn in spring without internal component, in winter with an internal component, nice design, lots of pockets, ventilation. Cons: not very warm (if less than – 15 Celsius, then you need to wear the fleece under inner component), zipper had lost 1 segment in the first months of wearing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, annoying zippers. Love most everything about the jacket, with the exception of the zippers. The zippers for the outer pockets get caught almost every time I try to zip them. I figured out that by stretching the jacket (holding the lower edge) I can zip them without trouble, but it's a bit of a hassle, especially when your hands are cold and/ or gloved...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly very good features This coat is very warm and very light. It works well for Wisconsin weather, some of which has already been below 0 with wind chill at about -10 early this year. I don't like the zippers but have not broken one, yet. It seems like the weak point in this very light setup. Did I mention that it was warm and very light? Wind resistant, too.
