DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Marmot DriClime

Marmot DriClime
Marmot DriClime is a mesh composed of two different denier yarns which work together to maximize breathability, prevent condensation and wick moisture. This means you can be as active as you want in the outdoors and remain dry and comfortable. Do you ever think, "I wish I were all wet and gross"? I didn't think so. Dry and comfortable all the way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Single best piece of technical clothing your could ever pick for years in the field (period). I'm a Geologist, and while that really means nothing special, it does mean that I get to spend months in the field in all possible conditions licking rocks - mostly Montana, Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. This is hands down the best shell/windshirt/mid-layer "do all" article of clothing your could ever own. It's warm, super light, and very windproof. I used one for over 10 years and hundreds of days, sun up to sun down. I literally tore it to pieces, yet when I bought a new one I could not bring myself to get rid of the old one, which drives my wife nuts. You will not regret buying this, I promise you. I am buying a 3rd because my 2nd was stolen out of my truck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very light but warm jacket I bought this Jacket (I call it jacket because it does the job of a real jacket) almost two months, it is very nice, I love it.,,,,This is a warm, waterproof, windshield...that's all a jacket can do, more over, it is really very light, because you don't feel nothing when you in it. ,,,,Your shoulder don't feel uncomfortable when you rise up your arm, or rotate your body. I normally wear a T-shirt/ shirt in it to stand up to 4 Degree Celsius temperature. I feel even hot when I exercises. This is a 24/7 wearing jacket and I wear it all day long.,,,,I am 175cm height, 74kg weight. The M size is just fine.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't get over the 80s style The underarm vents are really well designed, and the inside is a soft brushed fabric so the feel of this garment is wonderful. I also like the cuffs - not the cheap flimsy kind, but substantial and durable. The shirt is fairly light weight, perfect for fall and spring and warm days in winter. But I just couldn't get past the shiney, nylony look and feel of the shell... it reminded me so much of the exercise suits of the 1980s, I could not bring myself to keep them. The final nail in that coffin is the nylon is much like sleeping bag nylon, so it swooshes with every motion, eliminating any chance for stealth in the woods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If I had to leave my burning house with only one item of clothing, this would be it. My first DriClime Windshirt, a distinctive two-tone green, disappeared while my daughter was visiting. Just sayin'. I tried to replace it but I could never seem to find my size in anything but black. And after 27 years as a Navy SEAL, I don't want to wear black stuff anymore. I found one at your site in a very cool orange/grey. Very cool.,,I'll wear this thing bc touring at 15 degrees, biking in a light summer rain, and chasing my dog Betty all over the Ten Mile Range all year round. Easily the most versatile jacket I've ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just awesome! I've gone through 2 over the past 12 years. I swear by this Marmot product.,,,,It gets used through all 4 seasons here in Southern Ontario, Canada. I pretty much wear this windshirt all day, every day. It is my go-to jacket for the Spring/Fall, and my base layer for Winter. It does a remarkable job regulating my body temp and preventing me from sweating and then getting cold, and it does it better than fleece, which is way bulkier.,,,,It dries out fast when the shell gets wet from rain, but continues to block wind even when its already wet.,,,,I've even got both kids wearing windshirts in kids' sizes--which are almost impossible to find IN STOCK anywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a wonderful addition to any wardrobe I really like this jacket. It is very light, so at first glance does not seem very warm. Indeed, I probably would not wear this by itself on a blustery winter's morning. However, on cool to decently cold days, along with a long sleeve t shirt, this bad boy really blocks the wind and keeps you nice and warm. I wear it often when running, but also use it for walking around, as it looks pretty darn cool. Overall, it is a nice jacket for windy conditions, and I would suggest it to anyone who likes to run or hike, or in general, look cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still perfect after seven years and thousands of miles I've take my DriClime to over twenty countries and counting. From a chilly early spring stroll in Shanghai, to warming up on the dive boat after a reef dive in Mexico, to cutting the breeze during kayak trips, to serving as a midlayer and pajamas on the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal, this is the one item that I always take with me. It looks nice enough to wear out to a casual dinner with friends. Take it on a bus or plane ride and never worry about the cold cabin again. After seven years of hard use, it still looks good, still wicks perfectly, and still sheds moisture. It doesn't need to be babied, and a quick dunk in the creek will clean off any dirt. It's the perfect tough, versatile layer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Needs to be bigger though... I am 6'3" and weigh 290 pounds with 9% body fat. I really could use a XXXL when I speed hike the PCT this summer. I know what a game-changer piece of gear this is, but I am stuck wearing it only as underwear in XXL unless I want to get a bunch of comments like "Hey, Hulk! Nice skin tight windbreaker!" The sleeves seem to stretch enough when I have to make a bicep flex, but just barely. Wish it came in military colors as well. I find its better to blend in than having little kids ask if I am Ironman or something if I wear any of the peacock colors...
