DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Marmot DriClime

Marmot DriClime
Marmot DriClime is a mesh composed of two different denier yarns which work together to maximize breathability, prevent condensation and wick moisture. This means you can be as active as you want in the outdoors and remain dry and comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most used outdoor clothing item This is the first review I have written for any product, and I am no longer a young dude.  My DriClime Windshirt must be over 20 years old.  It has easily been the most versatile and used piece of clothing I own, whether for a coolish morning bike ride or part of a layering system in cold weather.  I think it has been with me on virtually every one of my outdoor adventures.  It was showing a few signs of fraying this past year when I was forced to use it as a leash for bringing a dog down off a mountain!  I have been wearing it since, but it is a bit shabby after that trip (although still serviceable) so I am breaking down and getting a new one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just awesome! I've gone through 2 over the past 12 years. I swear by this Marmot product.,,,,It gets used through all 4 seasons here in Southern Ontario, Canada. I pretty much wear this windshirt all day, every day. It is my go-to jacket for the Spring/Fall, and my base layer for Winter. It does a remarkable job regulating my body temp and preventing me from sweating and then getting cold, and it does it better than fleece, which is way bulkier.,,,,It dries out fast when the shell gets wet from rain, but continues to block wind even when its already wet.,,,,I've even got both kids wearing windshirts in kids' sizes--which are almost impossible to find IN STOCK anywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Single best piece of technical clothing your could ever pick for years in the field (period). I'm a Geologist, and while that really means nothing special, it does mean that I get to spend months in the field in all possible conditions licking rocks - mostly Montana, Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. This is hands down the best shell/windshirt/mid-layer "do all" article of clothing your could ever own. It's warm, super light, and very windproof. I used one for over 10 years and hundreds of days, sun up to sun down. I literally tore it to pieces, yet when I bought a new one I could not bring myself to get rid of the old one, which drives my wife nuts. You will not regret buying this, I promise you. I am buying a 3rd because my 2nd was stolen out of my truck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't get over the 80s style The underarm vents are really well designed, and the inside is a soft brushed fabric so the feel of this garment is wonderful. I also like the cuffs - not the cheap flimsy kind, but substantial and durable. The shirt is fairly light weight, perfect for fall and spring and warm days in winter. But I just couldn't get past the shiney, nylony look and feel of the shell... it reminded me so much of the exercise suits of the 1980s, I could not bring myself to keep them. The final nail in that coffin is the nylon is much like sleeping bag nylon, so it swooshes with every motion, eliminating any chance for stealth in the woods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatile, really indispensable! My brother bought one and gave it to me. Great gift! I have been using it for years on backpacking and climbing trips in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. It is just warm enough to be my primary outer layer on many summer mountain evenings, at high camp, sitting by the camp stove preparing (and eating !) dinner. It cuts the breeze, but isn't so warm that you couldn't wear it while hiking on a cool day. It also is great to sleep in on cold nights because it keeps the heat from your shoulders and neck from escaping out of your sleeping bag. It is also just the right warmth you need at 2AM getting out of the tent to relieve myself! Mine lasted for 15 years +

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did this product change? I have two older wind shirts that are my favorite garments so I thought it would be nice to have a fresh one for my current trip to Africa. I had to order on line because I could not get to the Berkeley store before my departure. The shirt arrived the day before I left so just tossed it in the luggage. When I finally opened it up it was very different from old ones and not an improvement. The material is different, the lining is separate from the outer material, the fit is different as well. One of the first things I will do upon returning is take it to the Marmot store to see if I was sent the wrong item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very light but warm jacket I bought this Jacket (I call it jacket because it does the job of a real jacket) almost two months, it is very nice, I love it.,,,,This is a warm, waterproof, windshield...that's all a jacket can do, more over, it is really very light, because you don't feel nothing when you in it. ,,,,Your shoulder don't feel uncomfortable when you rise up your arm, or rotate your body. I normally wear a T-shirt/ shirt in it to stand up to 4 Degree Celsius temperature. I feel even hot when I exercises. This is a 24/7 wearing jacket and I wear it all day long.,,,,I am 175cm height, 74kg weight. The M size is just fine.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still perfect after seven years and thousands of miles I've take my DriClime to over twenty countries and counting. From a chilly early spring stroll in Shanghai, to warming up on the dive boat after a reef dive in Mexico, to cutting the breeze during kayak trips, to serving as a midlayer and pajamas on the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal, this is the one item that I always take with me. It looks nice enough to wear out to a casual dinner with friends. Take it on a bus or plane ride and never worry about the cold cabin again. After seven years of hard use, it still looks good, still wicks perfectly, and still sheds moisture. It doesn't need to be babied, and a quick dunk in the creek will clean off any dirt. It's the perfect tough, versatile layer.
