Marmot DriClime

Marmot DriClime
Marmot DriClime is a mesh composed of two different denier yarns which work together to maximize breathability, prevent condensation and wick moisture. This means you can be as active as you want in the outdoors and remain dry and comfortable. Do you ever think, "I wish I were all wet and gross"? I didn't think so. Dry and comfortable all the way.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. It's cute to think of a fabric as being afraid of water. Now if only they could make a bearphobic coating. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most used outdoor clothing item This is the first review I have written for any product, and I am no longer a young dude.  My DriClime Windshirt must be over 20 years old.  It has easily been the most versatile and used piece of clothing I own, whether for a coolish morning bike ride or part of a layering system in cold weather.  I think it has been with me on virtually every one of my outdoor adventures.  It was showing a few signs of fraying this past year when I was forced to use it as a leash for bringing a dog down off a mountain!  I have been wearing it since, but it is a bit shabby after that trip (although still serviceable) so I am breaking down and getting a new one.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Miss the Original I love my original DriClime Windshirt/Jacket and have worn it to shreads. I wear it over a tee shirt and makes a great layering piece under a vest/shell for skiing or by itself for hiking or even hanging around the house. It is my go to garment from fall through spring. I bought the new version as a replacement and found the bottom flaps constantly gave me a draft. My old one has a traditional bottom with drawstring. I ended up returning it and bought the Stride Jacket. However, I find that not as comfortable as my original DriClime especially around the wrists that feel too tapered and the fact that the lining stops at the forearm on the Stride. I miss the original design of the Driclime Windshirt, please bring it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Marmont - DriClime Windshirt I am now on by 2nd DriClime Windshirt over the past 3 years and it’s amazing; I do not leave home without it. I use it for Backpacking and Bicycling and it has outperformed my expectations. Used in connection with a t-shirt and a shirt it keeps me warm down to 17 degrees Fahrenheit. I prefer the DriClime Windshirt over my down jackets for warmth and versatility. I am 6’5’’ 220 pounds with a 37’’ sleeve length and the extra-large fits me perfectly. The durability of the jacket is superb.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great function, terrible sizing This jacket works exactly as I expected, cuts the chill on cold mornings and breezy hikes but the fit is terrible.  I ordered a medium which is what I wear in everything else, the chest fits perfect, the arm length is good but the sleeve elastic doesn't come close to snugly fitting my wrist and the waist is baggy, which with no drawstrng, let's cold air in. I have other Marmot products and honestly would expect more effort put into an otherwise well functioning product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The second most important garment you can own After a great Goretex rain coat, the windshirt is the next most important garment you can own. It is perfect for the time when the temperature drops 10 to 15 degrees below your comfort level. Lightweight and easy to pack, this is my third Marmot windshirt. I wear them until I leave them somewhere for some lucky soul.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought my Driclime I bought my Driclime windshirt in 1993, 20 years later it basically looks brand new. Like all the other comments, this can be used in so many different situations. It can be primary layer, a wicking layer, a windproof layer (for under a light fleece). It is amazing how versatile it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best piece in the armory! I don't often write reviews, but I have had my DriClime wind shirt for 7 years and it is still my "go-to" piece of gear, I do not have a single piece of gear that I have relied on more or used for everything. I use the wind shirt as outer-layer for; skate skiing, skinning up in backcountry, and during shoulder seasons of mountain biking, mid-layer; for turning lift-serve, and all ways have as backup hiking or camping. The heck with fleece, this is just as warm as any fleece I have worn but half the weight, and blocks wind, light precip., and wicks moisture better than anything. I do tell my outdoor friends if you do not have this piece in your quiver, you are probably suffering. After 7 years of almost constant use, the jacket is still in great shape. I don't however workup firewood or thrash through the woods (off trail) doing wildlife work in the jacket, I am looking for a tough version of the jacket for that stuff. Cheers to Marmot for the DriClime wind shirt, keep making it, I want one to be available when I need to replace mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wear this almost everyday Just spent 8 days in Big Bend National Park (over Christmas). The dryclime is always a part of whatever else I wear. Great weight to warmth ratio and blocks the wind and light rain. Got my second one for Christmas. Can't go wrong with this shirt.
