"Outstanding quality and comfort" 04/21/11
I've had this jacket for almost two years now, and I am incredibly impressed! I live in Michigan and I don't think anyone would argue that we get some nasty weather. This has to be one of the warmest fleece jackets I've ever had or seen. The windstopper material does a fantastic job. I am completely comfortable wearing this jacket as an outer layer with a warm base layer underneath and nothing more in the winter. It's actually somewhat water-resistant as well. I've never gotten drenched when caught wearing this in the rain. Throw a precip or something similar over this and you'd be good to during those nasty Michigan early spring showers for extended periods.
"Great jacket for the crag or the movies, nothing more" 12/07/10
I love this jacket. it is very stylish and pretty warm and wind resistant. i've had it a few years and i still love it. however, I would never consider taking it to the mountains. It is far to warm to be used as a baselayer and since it has windstopper, It breathes poorly anyway. It can't be used as an outer layer because it is not very water or snow resistent. unfortuanly, the afterburner is just a great around town jacket with a sporty look.
"Egg Resistant" 11/30/10
I wear this jacket as my outer layer in the winter time. Eveen though the water resistance is good, I wear a marmot precip over it when it might be wet/snowy. It is super warm and durable. On my last trip I accidentally cracked an egg over the sleeve and after it dried it just wiped off. I haven't had to clean it and I have worn it for almost a year and it looks brand new.
"Nice but be careful when washing" 11/04/10
I absolutely loved this jacket and wore it everyday til it got filthy. Finally I had to wash it and foolishly left a kleenex in the pocket. When I took it out of the drier the kleenex had permanently discolored the sleeves. This may be my fault but I know of many people who have left items in pockets and never had a ruined article of clothing. Great Jacket but be careful when washing.
"Nice jacket... and then some!" 11/23/09
Finally got this jacket, and it was worth the wait. Bought it so I could start running outside as the winter makes its way here. Feels good, doesn't stand out too much, and just plain works. Kind of like me!Much props to the staff at Moosejaw. The first delivery got stolen, apparently; they followed through with the situation, and sent me another one as soon as they were able, no questions asked.
"This will keep you warm" 10/30/09
This jacket is very warm/soft/comfortable. Good at keeping the heat in because of the cords by the waist and Velcro wrist straps. Highly recommended. Only downside I see is that hair/fur gets stuck to the jacket fairly easily but its not a big problem.
"Would recommend. Glad I bought it since spring is never going to get here." 02/20/08
I love Gore Windstopper. So far I like my afterburner jacket. Seems like it has a fairly slim fit. Which is ok, especially if you want to put a shell over it. Warm, windproof, and the nylon shoulders/arms are very water resistant. Whatelse do you need?
