Marmot MemBrain

Marmot MemBrain
Marmot MemBrain fabrics utilize a polyurethane laminate that perfectly balances performance for anything nature can throw at you. Waterproof, breathable and durable. That's what we call the trifecta. If I were more clever I'd call it the dry-fecta, but I'm not. Anyways, the external protection coupled with minimal internal condensation adds up to pure comfort.

Marmot DriClime

Marmot DriClime
Marmot DriClime is a mesh composed of two different denier yarns which work together to maximize breathability, prevent condensation and wick moisture. This means you can be as active as you want in the outdoors and remain dry and comfortable. Do you ever think, "I wish I were all wet and gross"? I didn't think so. Dry and comfortable all the way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from you won't get wet so far, i've worn this jacket in some pretty heavy rain and gusty afternoons and it's worked perfectly. soon i'll be able to wear it in snow and see how that works- i'm sure it'll do fabulously. it's super light and thin so i can strap it to my backpack if the weather clears up, then just as easily put it back on when it pours again. the quality is excellent- i haven't had a leak in it yet and the water streams off so well that my pants get extra soaked. the upper arm pocket is perfect for sunglasses or a phone and is, as far as i can tell, watertight. I'm 6'3", about 220 (with pretty wide shoulders) and the XL fits perfectly. i'd highly recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, with a few issues nice fit, i have a medium and im 6 ft 173 with a long torso. can get that wet but not actually wet feeling after being in a downpour for more than half an hour or so... but you wont actually get wet so if you have a baselayer on, you wont really notice. one issue however is that the soft fleece on the wrist used to make it more comfortable also absorbs water and will soak your wrists/whatever you have covering your wrists, thats only a problem if youre gonna be hour for hours at a time in consistent rain. probably needs nikiwax dwr at least once a year.... some issues, but itll keep you dry and looks nice. very compressible, room to layer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Holds up under tough conditions Have worn this now in at least half a dozen sustained downpours and it continues to keep me completely dry. I've had things inside the pocket which have become damp from the overall humidity but not from any rain soaking through.,,,,Pros - very economical price, good looks/fit and nice feel to the fabric (slightly soft to the touch and not too stiff). Yes the fleece touches at neck and cuffs are toasty when it's cool out.,,,,Cons - hood construction is a little weird and, unless tightened, can flop into your face

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for lightweight 3 season hiking. I've owned this jacket for over 2 years now. I have taken it everywhere in 3 season weather conditions. Canyoneering in the Zion Narrows, crampon hiking in the mountains of SoCal, and raining all over.,,,,It put up against quite a bit! I took it along with me in winter conditions, but required a base and mid layer to be warm at night. I recommend this with a long sleeve base layer, as the sleeves can get a little clammy feeling without.,,,,The DriCime lining is unbelieveably comfortable, and the hood stows in a convenient way. The pitzips are very convenient. I feel the ventilation is great, with the exception of the forearms which tended to pick up moisture. Otherwise, I love this jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Non-Gore-tex Rain Jacket This is the best non-gore-tex (yes, triple hyphenated word) rain jacket. For the price, this jacket has everything you would want. It's comfortable, lightweight, decently breathable. Oh and it's completely water proof. More comfort than the precip which is why I chose this model.,,,,I think the only complaint is the breathability. Hiking or doing strenuous activities will make you sweat in this. The pit zips help but you will get warm. Gore-tex coats are more breathable, but also much more costly. Best coat for your money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from light, durable, effective. Used this and a fleece much of this last winter here in Kansas City and with many extremely cold windy days as we had i though i would need more, but was definitely satisfied with its performance. it slides well under my pack so it never bunched up and got annoying while out hiking. my only complaint is that the shoulders are a little bit narrow, but as mine are a lot wider than most it fit fairly well. on a normal sized and proportioned person it would be a perfect shell for whatever your sport or pastime. The pit zips provide good ventilation and the pockets are nice sized. Not really sure what the sleeve pocket would be good for, but others may have a good use for it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Shell for the price I have used it on multiple backpacking trips throughout the Adirondacks, Dolly Sods and on numerous climbing trips. Fits well and will keep you entirely dry even when hiking through pouring rain. The fleece lining on the cuffs and neck are comfortable but do get annoying once wet. Fairly breathable but I prefer hiking in just a T shirt and changing to dry clothes when reaching camp. If you like to hike in your rain gear you may want to consider one of the ultra light options as in my experience in summer hikes in the rain this jacket is too warm, even with just a t-shirt underneath. Still very compactible, light weight, completely waterproof and a good buy for the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Honey you shrunk my jacket I special ordered the XL Tall and was super excited with it fit perfectly. That never happens for me (6'5'' guy that's gotten use to making due on gear fit). ,,,,Only complaint is that my wife washed / dried (on low heat as recommended) my jacket and it shrunk considerably. So my perfect hit can't even be zipped up. Don't put this jacket in the dryer!
