"easy to set up, roomy, light, awesome tent"
bought the cedar green color last month because i was considering going to some outdoor music festivals with the missus. it's really easy to set the tent up. i've set it up in my apartment for the past month since the delivery and have been sleeping in it with a thin sleeping mattress, haha. for an indoor camper, i'd like to mention that sleeping in the tent helps to retain some heat at night :). overall, i'm very pleased with this as my first tent purchase. i can't wait to test this camping outdoors.
Using this one for 2 person car camping and so far so good. I like the 2 door design, and interior is quite spacious for 2. 3 fit people that like each other should not have a problem in this either, but the gear might have to go outside in one of the two spacious vestibules. Oh wait, there is a gear loft included that can hold a thing or two - definitely a plus. This tent also comes with a footprint, so that's another $20 you don't have to spend on it. The included stakes are better than the typical low-end tent stakes that usually come with tents, but I still managed to bend one with some aggressive pounding.Air flow is plentiful, and they really weren't shy with the mesh on the body of the tent. Condensation buildup depends on many things besides the tent design, so I can't say that it is any better or worse than with other tents in the class. The only suggestion I have is to increase the size/number of storage pockets. There is one in each corner, but i wish they were bigger
I love the size of the vestibules, interior height is great. it's easy to set up. Great for 2 people plus gear, or one person plus large dog. However, in a hard rain, the rain splashed up under the rainfly and into the tent due to the low profile ventilation. The low profile ventilation also creates quite a draft on your head and feet.
Needed a comfortable, high quality tent for two plus gear. We settled on the 3P since most 2Ps seem to be borderline small without weighing or costing much less. Turned out to be a great decision. Plenty of room for two plus all our gear inside the tent. The two big vestibules for muddy boots, firewood etc. Interior pockets and gear loft are great. Zippers work awesome. Reflective guy lines work great. The setup and teardown are simple and quick. Very happy with the free groundsheet. There is minor condensation on the fly occasionally but it never makes it inside the tent. You can easily split the tent into two parts for packing resulting in a measly 3lbs each. Overall a great value for such high quality gear. If only our car camping tent was this good. Maybe next year....
As I unpacked it,the first thing I noticed was how much lighter it was compaired to my other 3 man tent.I then unwrapped it,the poles were so light and the tent was well made.I looked for instructions so I could set it up,there were none,no worries it was easy to set up.Zippers work great, don't get caught up on the sides when your opening or closing the tent.I then jumped inside,a great 2 man tent.Sure you can get 3 people in it sittting down playing cards on a rainy afternoon, but if you want to sleep with some elbow room,2 people is the way to go.I read a few reviews that said the same.To be honest,I haven't tried it with 2 other adults but with my 2 kids, the tent was just fine for the 3 of us.I'm very happy I bought this tent.
This tent has been with me on several trips where it has rained all night and a drop never got inside the tent. Its a great value for the price and is also fairly lightweight, especially when split up between two people. The only downside is that I have had some slight issues with condensation, though nothing that was overwhelming. The floor is holding up well so far even though I've used it on surfaces that weren't exactly ideal.
Bought this for my cub scount and myself. Very easy setup. Is listed as a 3p tent, this would be a tight fit. I'm only 5'11" and 180, my son is 10 years old. Perfect for 2 of us. I like have 2 doors, no climbing over each other to get out for the 3am walk... Held up well in 30 mile hour winds on our last campout. Highly recommend this tent.
Limelight 3 is awesome :) the best tent for the value in my opinion, I was looking for something good that wouldn't break the bank since I'm no pro, I use it for hikes and the weight like some say is a little heavier then some but.. the piece of mind knowing its solid and durable through everything is worth the extra.
Overall this tent is a win. It’s a great balance of cost and features. Sure you can find tents that will out perform the Marmot but you will also pay significantly more for them. Additionally, you can find a gob of tents that are a lot cheaper than this tent but you will undoubtedly be compromising somewhere else. So if you’re looking for a solid all around tent that won’t break the bank, go buy a Marmot Limelight 3P. We wrote a full review on it and shot a video for everyone if your interested (sorry for the link but MJ does not allow you to upload videos for the reviews!) "My first high quality tent...why did I wait so long?"
I finally sprung for a better tent than what you get at the local discount store...and what a difference. You can just feel the quality as you put this tent together...which is super easy. The poles are light and strong. The tent breathes well. Even the included stakes are decent. The included gear loft, though kind of small, and the included footprint make it an even better value. Of course a tent rated for 3 is actually for 2 if you want any space. For us it worked well with 2 adults and 2 labs. Cozy. I love it!
Really nice tent, super easy to set up. It appears to be really high quality and well made. I've used it several times since I got it and I really am happy with my purchase. I would consider it on the smaller side, even for a 3 person tent. It is a bit smaller than the comparable eureka model that I have. But there is def enough room for 2 people with gear. Also has 2 nice roomy vestibules.
