The Marmot Kompressor Pack is an ultralight day pack for short hikes, hitting the summit, or even a plane trip. The Kompressor has three compression straps for cinching down whatever is inside to a smaller size. Use it as a stuff sack for your sleeping bag on the way into camp, then pack it with some food and extra layers on a short day hikes away from camp. The closed-cell foam back panel is removable, so you can leave it at home to reduce weight, sit on it when hanging around camp, or just enjoy the comfort as the pack rests upon your shoulders. Inside you'll find a hydration sleeve for keeping your drink in place instead of sloshing around while moving. When your mini-adventure comes to an end, tuck the pack inside it's own lid for saving space until next time.

Great pack for on the go or a summit push! This pack da bees' knees. I use it mostly for biking to class when all I need is a book/laptop. I was actually able to stuff both my girlfriend's and my sleeping bags in for a night of outdoor fun.,,Depending on which model you get, it may have the ability to fold in on itself and pack down to about the size of a 6-wk old Barred Owl. Great for a light summit pack for all the sexy mountaineers out there.,,Awesome grocery-getter too!

Love it!Carried this bag as my day pack all over Costa Rica and almost forgot it was there. Most days it carried a rain jacket, rain pants, extra socks, my DSLR, and Platypus water bottle. I have since bought an Osprey bladder and that worked well.,,Having the compession straps is handy when the bag isn't full.,,,,So very glad I bought this!!

Great Little Pack with Big RoomI love this pack and it's light weight, especially paired with the volume. Super comfortable as well. Packs super small when you don't need it (compresses to about a soda can). Just note that the material itself is relatively thin, so try not to drag it across things!

Light weight & big capacityI wear this pack everyday for my bike commute. Extremely light weight and enough capacity to hold my 15" laptop plus a change of clothes.

Surprisingly roomy!I bought this pack somewhat on a whim (it was on sale) although I had looked at it before and was interested in buying it. Overall I am very, very pleased with my purchase. I love the surprisingly large size of both the main compartment and the hood compartment, I love the simplicity of the design, and I love the versatility of the carrying capacity. The materials seem durable but I've only had the bag a week and a half so who's to say at this point.
I have used the Kompressor quite a bit while I've had it because right after purchasing it I went on a week long road trip where it was my second bag. I love how small and lightweight it is as well as its ability to carry a wide range of items. It can handle different weights, sizes, and quantities of content pretty darn well. Every time we left the car I threw my keys, phone and wallet in the hood compartment (with PLENTY of room to spare) and my water bottle, rain jacket, rain pants, and over-ear headphones and case in the main compartment. The main compartment was at most only about half full with all of these items inside. The three straps cinch the bag down really well so nothing moves while walking/hiking.
Overall I don't have any serious complaints about the bag. It's versatile, simple, seems reliable, and is really convenient. The only thing I might want to be different would be if there was a way for the foam insert to fold in half so that it can still be used when the bag is not entirely full. With the current setup you either get to use the bag cinched down without the foam insert or fully sized with the foam insert. I think it would be really nice to have the best of both worlds. Other than that I haven't had any problems and think this is a really great piece of equipment. Well done Marmot!
