"Best family tent out there" 01/31/13
We have used this tent now for two years of car family camping. It as stood up to numerous montana wind storms, two hi energy kids and big arse dog. Tons of room for family and gear as well. The best part is my wife can set it up all by herself while I cook dinner.
"Great Tent!" 11/20/12
I bought this as a car camping tent for a family of three. It fits a queen and twin beds with enough room between for a bedside table and enough room at the foot of the beds for a dresser (air mattresses and storage containers). All this and still enough room to walk around a bit. It is huge. Front and back doors, each with a vestibule. The "Halo" feature allows me to stand up fully in every area of the tent. It has very good ventilation with vents that zip open or closed that run the full length of the walls and vents on the fly. I have not used the tent extensively but the seams look high quality and the poles are thick and strong. I anticipate it lasting a long time.
"Great Family Tent" 04/30/12
Love this tent.Perfect for car camping. Lots of room for people and space for gear within the vestibules. Can fit two inflatable queen size mattresses side by side. On the downside, the poles easily bend. Overall, great tent, highly recommended.
"Only Halo I Want Overhead" 03/17/12
Warm interior glow. Modest footprint. Spacious. First time solo set-up <10 min. Sleeps 2-5 (small) people. Sturdy poles, not flimsy. Two cross poles are straight, provide adequate tension and so far do not retain bend after use. Two halo poles have slight arc, not mentioned in directions, visible during assembly. Tent arrived new, so presumably Marmot intended arc. I set up with poles arcing outward, creating halo effect. No problem. Directions instruct using farthest grommets to secure halo poles. (caution—using closer grommets would create tighter arc, which might cause bendage) I found set-up simple & intuitive. Encapsulates best base camp tent features.
"Great Family tent weak poles" 08/14/11
We were in this tent for 16 days. We had terrible weather high winds, thunder, lightning and torrential downpours. The tent with stood it all except for on the second time setting up the tent the poles bent. Not the first time I've heard of this. Tons of room for me my wife and our two children a 3year old and 4month old. Very water proof and spacious, and the organizer pockets are fantastic great tent over all. I would recommend this tent to anyone looking for a great three season car camping tent. Marmot was excellent with replacing the bent poles when I called them about the issue.
"A family tent to last" 08/11/11
I just gave the Halo its first trial: a week in the Adirondacks with my family of 5. Needless to say, we had plenty of space for people and gear inside, and more gear outside within the vestibules. That enabled us to enjoy a more remote site, protecting our gear from rain at the site rather than in a car trunk. Ventilation options were handy (and one of the reasons I didn't choose the Big House 6): on cooler nights we were glad to zip the side vents closed. Very smart, simple design for easy assembly and maximum utility.
"LOVE this tent" 08/01/11
This tent is perfect for car camping. It's really easy to set up, sleeps 4 quite comfortably, and stays put and dry during crazy sudden thunderstorms. After borrowing a friend's for a 3 week cross-country trip, we had to have our own for future adventures.
"This tent is no joke!" 04/23/11
I cant say enough about this tent...it is huge! I'm 6-4 and I had plenty of head room standing inside of it. The two doors/vestibules are really handy when you cant decide which way you need make a quick escape from zombies. I love the "halo" effect you have when your lying down looking up into the sky and trees above you. The Halo 6 handled some large wind gusts with ease and the ventilation is great when you open up both doors and side vents/windows. We were the talk of the campground...several people came up and complimented the tent. One kid walked by and said "you have an awesome tent!" And he is right...it is awesome...and big!!
"As Good As It Gets!" 08/12/10
The full fly makes this completely water proof and leaves you with a front and back covered/zippered area. There are multiple pockets along the walls of the tent to store anything you want to keep in the tent with you. When you dont need the fly, the mesh roof really offers a very open view of the sky/trees above you and is a wonderful way to fall asleep and night and wake up in the morning. If i had to do it all over again, i would get this very same tent without any regrets. Not the cheapest tent, but worth every penny.
"Really nice and big tent" 08/12/08
The good the easy set up and quality of the Marmot Halo 6 tent. The bad Haven't had a chance to go camping yet. The ugly My mother-in-law. But that's a different story.........with apologies to Sergio Leone and Clint Eastwood.
