"Compact and ideal" 01/12/12
The Marmot Eos 1 person tent is the ideal size and weight for a trek into the high country. This tent is going in my fishing pack for overnight alpine trips. Why buy a bivy when for about another pound of weight, you have a complete shelter. It is also low profile, so even in wind, I do not see any issues with getting blown away. The stake strips are ideal to secure the tent to the ground. I typically use MSR Groundhog stakes, but will likely use the MSR needle stakes for this tent.
"Im 5'9" and this tent is perfect tent for multi day hikes." 07/11/11
It's really fast and easy to set up. The only drawback being more time spent helping your friends set up there tents. The rain fly has kept me dry during several heavy rains. Fits in the backpack without taking up a lot of room. Don't expect to move around much while in it, its shelter while sleeping outdoors you don't need much more. If you need a 1 person tent this is the way to go
"Before this tent I hated putting up tents" 06/26/11
Putting up tents was once my least favourite part of camping. Threading the poles through them tiny sleeves was a pain. Trying to get the fly to sit just right was a pain. tripping over the lines was a pain. All the above issues have been solved with some simple but smart evolutionary changes marmot has made to the tent. The inner tent clips to the poles and the fly clips directly onto the tent so you can normally get away with not using a single tent peg. The fly pretty much aligns itself onto the tent perfectly. Fitting it into the bag is a breeze and i'm pretty sure its the lightest free-standing tent on the market. Its defiantly a winner in my books.
"Great tent, not a lot of room, but c'mon its a 1P" 02/25/11
Had this tent for about a year before finally getting a chance to use it. Camped up on a ridge in Red River Gorge. This tent if very light and VERY compressible. Setup was quick and easy. Yes, it's not the roomiest 1P tent ever, but I'm okay with that. I'm 6'1, 175 lbs and as far as length is concerned I didn't have a problem. I have a long Big Agnes pad and it fit inside with several inches to spare. The vestibule is a good size, had no trouble fitting my pack under it. The wind was pretty blustery that night, at least 20-30mph gusts and this tent held up like a champ. This really is a great tent, even if it is a bit cramped.
"!Best one man tent ever made!" 01/28/11
I have had my eos 1 for a year now. I love it. It has made life so much easier with its free standing pole design. Besides the fact that it weighs nothing, it doesn't take up much space. i would recomend it for someone who want to go on a long one and be comfortable. Oh yea, its also made by MARMOT! Yes I know i am obsessed!
"Poor Customer Service" 09/28/09
If you ever plan to deal with the customer service, do not buy Marmot Tents. I sent them mine about 6 months ago. After 2 months I called them to find out that they received the tent and would replace it. I wasn’t happy, since they no longer produced a single person tent for a 6ft tall person, but said OK. 2 months later I called and was told that my tent had mildew and would not be repaired or replaced. They offered me to buy a net tent at a discount. The cheapest I could find would have cost me over a $100. I said NO, I want my old tent back. 2 months later – no tent. I called them and the guy named Fry told me they still have my old tent in their office.

"Female distance hiker, Ladybug, loves this tent!" 10/02/08
I have covered close to 4,200 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail with the Marmot Eos. I am 5'6" and weigh about 108lbs. so this tent is plenty roomy for me. When journaling, I recline on my makeshift pillow and my head doesn't come close to the netting. I cook in the vestibule....shhhh!!!! I have the Eos with the window and love watching the stars pop out when the mosquitos are attacking. I suppose that I would be able to see a bear as well, but I have not had that experience in camp. I plan to use it again in 2009 on the Continental Divide Trail. As for condensation, I have never had a problem and the setup is simple.
"i'm looking forward to using this tent again" 05/30/08
the overall quality of the tent is excellent - a snap to set up. the length and width are fine, easily accomodating my 5'11 frame. it is not possible to sit-up in the tent without rubbing against the mesh, you have to stay at about 45 degrees. the tent held up really well in very windy and wet conditions.
"If you're average height or lower, I'm sure it's fine. Don't even consider it if you're tall." 04/18/08
The rated length on this tent is not even remotely close to the actual usable size. I am amazed that this tent has been lengthened over the previous model year by 8 - and yet it would still struggle to accommodate a 6'-0 person - tightly. I just received my Eos 1P tonight, and it'll be going right back to the Moosejaw tomorrow. Not even close. Considering how short this tent is now, I struggle to imagine what the previous, 8 shorter, version must have been like. My suggesting to Marmot and all tent manufactures is to consider making tents such as this in multiple lengths. Keep this version available so you can brag about how light it is, and then create a longer, slightly heavier versi
"Updgraded length, downgraded features" 03/20/08
I just got this tent today and set it up in my home office. The quality is fantastic. I tried out the MSR hubba and found the interior room lacking. The Eos has much more elbow room. I am 5'10 and the fact that my head rubs the high mesh lightly is not bothersome at all. However...Marmot has decided to remove both the window and vent from the rain fly. Both were features that set this tent apart. I'll take it over the Hubba, But was really looking forward to extra ventilation and a view.
