Marmot MemBrain fabrics utilize a polyurethane laminate that perfectly balances performance for anything nature can throw at you. Waterproof, breathable and durable. That's what we call the trifecta. If I were more clever I'd call it the dry-fecta, but I'm not. Anyways, the external protection coupled with minimal internal condensation adds up to pure comfort.

Excellent expedition bagIn addition to the usual suspects of short winter trips, I have taken this bag on three expeditions to the Alaska Range. I sleep plenty warm in -20 (in a tent) with it. I have a long (I'm 6'6) and find there is plenty of room in the foot area for drying out socks/etc, plus it doesn't feel claustrophobic around the torso or legs. The zipper works better than the other bags that I have used. The hood is simply sublime in terms of warmth and adjustability. I chose this over the -40 and am happy that I did so: I figure that I will always have some extra clothes to put on...and if that doesn't do it, my corneas will be flash frozen, so it won't really matter anyway.

I was always cold at night in the High Sierra. Not anymore!I am so toasty warm with this bag! I was nervous paying so much, but after a night at 24 degrees with a cheap bag I threw the cash down and never looked back. This thing is a crackup. It is so light and packs reasonably small. But when you lay it out and fluff it, it is light a huge cloud in the tent. It puffs up almost 10" thick! Amazing. You get in it and in seconds you feel your own heat radiating around you. I'm always cold, so for women like me this is the bomb and the super luxo-bag. The puffy head section is practically a lofty pillow when warmer. Or it surrounds your whole head in a cloud of warmth. LOL, it even muffles my boyfriends snoring. Who could ask for more? Quality? Superb.

Worth It!This is one of the best gear purchases I have ever made. I have tested it to -17 without a tent and I slept comfortably all night. Lofts as well as the day I bought it. Used it in a very wet heavy snow storm, again without a tent. When I woke in the morning the fabric had kept the insulation dry and within an hour the bag was completely dry. Compresses down pretty small for a -20 bag. I have the long version, don't need it as I am only 5'10" but the extra room is nice. Store it well and it will last you forever.

Roomy and warm enough.Great winter bag. It gets really big and will cause envy in the tent with other friends at cold nights. You probably don't need any warmer bag and you have enough space to lay down with your down jacket (which you have with you anyways on those cold trips). ,,,,The older version of this was stolen from me in Chile this winter. The bag was bought in 2006 and it remained as good as new still so I had no doubt of buying this one. Hope it lasts as long, and even longer!

Roomy, Warm, Soft, Built to lastI love this bag. I am finally warm snow camping. The bag swallows you and leaves lots of room for tossing and turning as I sleep. I am 6'1" and 200lbs and the long version left plenty of room for keeping clothes warm inside.

Warm, warm, warm! This is an incredible bag. The first thing you notice is the quality. It is well made. Not sure about the waterproof MemBrain, as it has been dry every time I've used it.
