"Worth It!" 05/01/11
This is one of the best gear purchases I have ever made. I have tested it to -17 without a tent and I slept comfortably all night. Lofts as well as the day I bought it. Used it in a very wet heavy snow storm, again without a tent. When I woke in the morning the fabric had kept the insulation dry and within an hour the bag was completely dry. Compresses down pretty small for a -20 bag. I have the long version, don't need it as I am only 5'10" but the extra room is nice. Store it well and it will last you forever.
"Excellent expedition bag" 08/18/10
In addition to the usual suspects of short winter trips, I have taken this bag on three expeditions to the Alaska Range. I sleep plenty warm in -20 (in a tent) with it. I have a long (I'm 6'6) and find there is plenty of room in the foot area for drying out socks/etc, plus it doesn't feel claustrophobic around the torso or legs. The zipper works better than the other bags that I have used. The hood is simply sublime in terms of warmth and adjustability. I chose this over the -40 and am happy that I did so: I figure that I will always have some extra clothes to put on...and if that doesn't do it, my corneas will be flash frozen, so it won't really matter anyway.
"Roomy, Warm, Soft, Built to last" 05/15/10
I love this bag. I am finally warm snow camping. The bag swallows you and leaves lots of room for tossing and turning as I sleep. I am 6'1" and 200lbs and the long version left plenty of room for keeping clothes warm inside.
